And Kelis, didn´t she sucked badly with this album, it was #40something in UK, and sold like 100,000 in USA??? Why do people hype failed acts when acts who sell reasonably well with their albums, like Evanescence, have no airplay?

January 30, 200719 yr EMI have had a very disappointing few months on the album sales front :P Yeah there was an article about this in The Sun recently.EMI were really hoping Norah's album would have a big first week.

January 30, 200719 yr This is Razorlight's second album though, and Snow Patrol's fifth / sixth / seventh (I dunno, lost count) It's true though, music's very transient these days and, yep, The Klaxons (if they ever do another album) will never get to number one again since their album's going straight in there. Ditto the Arctic Monkeys probably. The likes of Hard-Fi, Kasier Chiefs and Editors, however, are almost guaranteed a number one album each as their first album was picked up slowly. As for Norah - there's a reason why the third album is usually referred to as "the difficult album". There's not many who've managed to pull off a classic third - Happy Mondays, The Clash, Blur... For the record, I think most band's debut albums are their best and, with the 'get another out as soon as possible' mentality around now, I don't think this'll change. I bet Kasabian and The Killers wish they'd spent a little longer on the songs of their second albums. I know it's not Rlight or SPatrol's first album :lol: I meant to say their 2nd albums have done quite well and been received a hell of a lot better. I do agree though with everything else you've said. I know people will probably laugh but I think Avril Lavigne will have a good 3rd album when it's released in April. ^_^ But then look at P!nk - her album career is very scattered. Her first album sold poorly - then she produced the staggering successful 2nd - the 3rd was just awful and now she's back in the game with an amazing collection of songs in the 4th - and OK it flopped in the states but it was a big seller everywhere elseo.
January 30, 200719 yr Mikey it's SWITCHES & 'Drama Queen' :lol: I am VERY glad it made top 40 bought a copy today along with Mika & The Cold War Kids & The Fray's album. Really love 'Drama Queen' deserves to be an even bigger hit but top 40 is very good considering I thought it would miss top 75. Mika will definately do 70k at a push now and sales look very strong indeed.
