Posted May 8, 200719 yr McFly heading for singles summit 08 May 2007 - 14:16:42 Source: Music Week McFly’s Baby’s Coming Back (Universal) looks likely to be the week’s highest new entry on the singles chart, potentially knocking Shakira and Beyonce’s Beautiful Liar (Columbia) off the top spot after 3 consecutive weeks. It has already sold 2,000 more copies, and with the double A-side version of Coming Back, including Transylvania, at number two the boy band looks set to make a big impact in the Sunday chart. Other new entries look likely to come from Booty Luv, already riding high on the club charts, with Shine (Hed Kandi), and The Maccabees with Precious Time (Fiction). Akon’s Don’t Matter (Universal) looks set to move into the Top 10, as does Linkin Park’s What I’ve Done (Warners). The week’s highest climber could be from England’s Eurovision hopefuls Scootch, with Flying The Flag (For You) (Warners), jumping over 120 places so far. Album-wise, there could be as many as four new entries into the Top 10 this week, with the Manic Street Preachers’ Send Away The Tigers (Columbia) set to threaten Sheffield’s Arctic Monkeys first place position with Favourite Worst Nightmare (Domino). The welsh act sold around 20 copies less than the Arctic Monkeys yesterday. Travis also look likely to win a place in the Top 10 with their new release The Boy With No Name (Independiente), while Björk’s Volta (One Little Indian) is also shifting fast. Beverley Knight’s Music City Soul (Parlophone) looks set to enter the chart in the Top 20 this week, as is Groove Armada’s SoundBoy Rock (Columbia). =========================================== Singles 01 McFly - Baby's Coming Back/Translyvania (P) Top 5 Akon - Don't Matter (P) Top 10 Linkin Park - What I've Done (P) Hellogoodbye Here (In My Arms) (D) Top 15 Amerie - Take Control (P) Scooch - Flying The Flag (For You) (P) Top 20 Funeral For A Friend - Into Oblivion (Reunion) (P) Jamie T - Sheila (P) Top 30 JoJo - Anything (P) Top 40 Ross Copperman - All She Wrote (P) Red Hot Chili Peppers - Hump De Bump (P) Top 50 Maccabbees - Precious Time (P) Armand Van Helden - NYC Beat (D) Top 75 Booty Luv - Shine (D) Meat Loaf - Cry Over Me (P) Therese - Feelin Me (P) Reverend And The Makers - Heavyweight Champion Of The World (D) ======================= Albums 01 Arctic Monkeys (21 copies ahead) 02 Manic Street Preachers 03 Michael Buble Top 5 Travis Bjork Top 10 Groove Armada Top 15 Beverley Knight Top 40 Elliott Smith Dolores O'Riordan Top 75 Gym Class Heroes CSS Carla Bruni Credit to Andy70 @ havenforum
May 8, 200719 yr are Booty luv gonna chart this week? I hope so :P - Great tune! Oh and I think Akon or Beyonce will be number 1 this week with Amerie top 5 (Hope she gets 1) aaand I reckon Maroon 5 will chart in the top 10 Edited May 8, 200719 yr by MikeyJosh
May 8, 200719 yr well it doesn't matter if mcfly get number 1 this week cos they'll fall to 1123 next week (or something as ridiculous) and hello/goodbye or maroon 5 will be number 1.
May 8, 200719 yr Doh! I forgot about bank holiday monday :( I think McFly will be #1 in the singles but I think that the Arctics should just about fend off the competition for the #1 album again this week :D
May 8, 200719 yr Hopefully it will be mcfly Baby's coming back wen't on sale on itunes this morning and is allready 62
May 8, 200719 yr Is it possible that if Amerie doesn't get no. 1 this week, she'll climb next week? Hardly, with such big singles as Maroon 5 and Hellogoodbye challenging.
May 8, 200719 yr :puke: :puke: :puke: :puke: :puke: :puke: :puke: :puke: :puke: :puke: at mcfly, reckon theyll be number one but maybe amerie could do it, especially as all the 'teenie-weenies' are all locked up in school till saturday B) :D :P (mean, i know but tis the truth) i dont even care if scooch get to the top anything but mcs**t lol think manics or travis for number 1 album
May 8, 200719 yr McFly purely down to all their signings. Last time they got to number1 was with star girl and they had 2/3 signings per day 3for£5 offer aswell this time theirs no offer and their is only a cd1/dvd and singing wed in mk and thur bham
May 8, 200719 yr McFly purely down to all their signings. I don't think that signing will help them much, I think people stupid enough to go along, would have probably bought the single anyway!
May 8, 200719 yr I think McFly are pathetic, they're just SO desperate for thier songs to be No.1!!! :puke2:
May 8, 200719 yr The Manics getting to number 2 again is one thing - but can Linkin Park seriously contend for number one?!? Kids get too much pockey money these days.
May 8, 200719 yr It reads to me as if McFly could be at number 2. Edited May 8, 200719 yr by truly talented
May 8, 200719 yr It appears that their sales have yet to be combined and are at 1 AND 2 which means there's no chance of them not being number one :manson: Amerie only "top 15" :( And Jojo top 30 for the Jojo loon that appears everywhere here ATM...
