:yahoo: Have just completed an Excel database of all the tracks ever to appear on a UK NOW ...Music Volumes 1-67 with chart positions. Have a guess how many of these 2564 tracks were ever a UK#1?

Now 67 has:

Beyonce & Shakira - Beautiful Liar

McFly- Baby’s Coming Back

Rihanna feat. Jay-Z - Umbrella

Take That - Shine

Timbaland feat. Justin Timberlake & Nelly Furtado - Give It To Me

And possibly Kate Nash this coming Sunday.

I think there was a much higher turnover of #1's in the past (not many Rihanna's doing 10 weeks at #1!), so at least 6 per album is over 400.

Some good guesses, actually there are altogether a total of 341 #s on 67 albums.
I remember Now 55 only had three #1s on it. :magic: R Kelly, Tomcraft and Busted.
I would have guessed somewhere between 185 - 200, then I saw the answer!

David :o

Such knowledge.

2003 was $h!t for #1s anyway :/

now 52 also only had 3 number 1s-ronan keating, liberty X and sugababes.

now 38 only had 2-spice girls and the verve.

however both now 44 and 47 had 10 number 1s each!

Now 57 had 8 no1's on it I think, maybe more, including Britney Spears, Will Young, LMCvU2, Kelly&Ozzy, DJ Casper and Peter Andre and Michelle wotsit from x-factor and Busted.

I always find it odd when Now albums start with non No.1's becuase it often highlights weak periods for music...examples I can think of are:

Chumbawumba-Tubthumping (Now 38)

John Travolta & Olivia Newton John-Grease Megamix (Now 40)

Rachel Stevens-Some Girls (Now 58)

Blue-Curtain Falls (Now 59)

Gwen Stefani-What You Waiting For (Now 60)

Corrine Bailey Rae-Put Your Records On (Now 63)

Fair enough for some of those as they are classics (Chumbawumba, Gwen Stefani) but Blue??? Curtain Falls was poor...

To save some of us the bother.... any chance of the full list?
