I was reading in the papers earlier, and they expect McFly to have climbed to #2 by the end of the week because of all these signings and stuff.

:o Surely the gap between them and Take That is too big for them to catch up?! I mean they would have to sell 20,000 CDs at the record signings just to close the gap based on Take That's first day sales  Can't see them shifting that amount at a record signing

And with the 100,0000,000,00 Downloads you'll be helping them with.... The Can't lose :magic:

I dunno why, but that's what the papers thought. It's just their opinion at the end of the day, and I don't think they'll be able to catch up to Take That but I see them staying at #3.

 Indeed! Especially now the live version has just become available on 7Digital  ;)

 Indeed! The Sun were even saying on Monday that McFly had outsold Leona and Take That

Yeah I wouldn't put too many hopes on what the papers say, they often get their sources wrong. I remember once I got my hopes up when they said Mariah's "Shake It Off" was battling it out for #1, as it turned out it had been between #9 and #11 all week in the midweeks. Humph. :( Therefore the only sources I trust nowadays come from here. :D Thankfully the sources here tell me Leona is a dead cert and nothing short of the world ending could stop her from being #1 on Sunday and holding off Take That, McFly AND Britney, which is actually the news I wanted to hear. :D

I think 2007 has been a great year for music, particularly the #1's. I think this year has had a lot more DECENT #1's than last year had thankfully. :D

Bull c**p, they are hardly ahead of Sugababes and Britney.

I'm just fearing Westlife are gonna knock Leona from the top spot next week.. :(

I AGREE :D

Rihanna - Umbrella

Timbaland - The Way I Are/Give It To Me

Leona Lewis - Bleeding Love

Beyonce + Shakira - Beautiful Liar

Sugababes - About You Now

Robyn - With Every Heartbeat

Kanye West - Stronger

have all been great #01's! ^_^

If Leona sells 200k+ this week I would say Westlife haven't got an icecube in hells chance of knocking her off next week...

Those are pretty much all of the #1's I meant.

That's what I thought, Kel...but it's like...the thought of a COMEBACK Westlife single NOT getting to #01 is like too good to be true.

Yeah I know, they always have the obligatory number 1. :( Although I think someone said their last "comeback" single sold like 45k in it's first week, so if this one sells about the same we shouldn't have a problem.

As for the track itself, I know everyone moans about Westlife but they honestly don't annoy me THAT much. Their covers of You Raise Me Up and The Rose didn't bother me much because I wasn't overly familiar with the originals, although someone who is a fan of "Home" (the original) I can say I am positively OFFENDED by this track and in my opinion is the worst cover they have ever done. Just shoot them. Now.

Indeed - "Shine" was a superb #1 track this year ^_^

We don't know how close they are right now as figures haven't been given out, so you never know.

Don't really believe it though. Though thinking about it I think once McFly's 7 digital downloads were added in the week and made a huge difference so that could have happened?

And Take Thats sales could have slowed down a lot.

Doubt it though haha.

They were refering to HMV stores only.

Shine and With Every Heartbeat are two of the best No.1's of all time let alone just this year!
Westlife's cover of You Raise me Up sold 97,288 copies in it's first week, hopefully they'll sell less with their Home cover. :arrr:
