November 13, 200718 yr It is really sucky for the Spice Girls tbh. But i'm sick of everyone today, Paper's/Friends etc; Going on about how much Leona has "trounced" them. When/Until (:lol:) Leona's debut album sells in Excess of 20 Million worldwide, i dont think the Spice Girls have anything to worry about :P They have more than proved their success. Agree with you 100%. Spice Girls are legendary and the fact that the tour worldwide sold out in minutes is a true testament to their longevity. I just hope they go number one in the US this week. For me the single is far more important and HAS to be number one but the GH isn't as important. I haven't bought my Spice Girls Greatest Hits yet cos I've been so busy. Now looking at the poor sales should I wait and buy it next Monday so we have a better chance of being number one or shall I buy it now? We all know sadly, Leona will be number one and the most Spice Girls will sell is probably 120-150k this week. Maybe I should wait and buy it next week cos it mite sell another 100k and maybe have a better chance of beating Leona.
November 13, 200718 yr Brilliant sales for Leona. I must admit to not having bought the album yet, but heard it played in at least 3 shops I went in today. Whatever anyone says she has certainly created a buzz and has encouraged people to go into music shops and buy an album. That can only be good for the music industry. I don't get why McFly's ticket sales in concerts doesn't relate to sales of cds. I don't know how many tickets they've sold or if they have even sold out any venues, but i'm pretty sure i heard that they are doing a theatre tour followed by arenas, so surely that would mean a lot of people coming to see them, but for some reason their singles and albums drop like stones. Interesting comment from a DJ on BRMB yesterday. He was at an event over the weekend featuring Leona, Sugababes and McFly. As for the other new track Voodoo, I can listen to that on youtube so as a fan I'd rather wait and buy it when it will really count in the charts and I really wanted Spice girls to be number one. Take That fans kept holding off thinking Leona's sales would drop drastically, but they didn't ... they did drop - but only proportionately to artists around (and perhaps not quite so much). So I'm glad I got my RTW the first week of release, at least I wasn't wasting time waiting for it - I wanted a decent version of the song in my car on the way to work without crappy reception or DJ interference If you are going to wait .... you might as well wait until christmas week when everyone'll be in the festive mood for buying greatest hits and compilations and impulse buys at the check-out. And thats saying something. Its already down 4000 copies from last year It was released at the wrong time with too many big selling albums out this month theirs like 10/11 new albums all above Mcfly greatest hits this week so its expected it think it will climb at xmas and they have their sell out ul arena tour starting later this month to help promote it all little aswell The single chart run 3-10-22-33 isn't that bad for mcfly thir chart runs have been short since I wanna hold you back in oct 2005 This chart run isn't their worst and im guessing its sold over 50k which their last singles couldn't manage

Their 4th studio album which is out april next year is going to be a whole new Mcfly sound more so for the people that have the greatest hits and single your know what i mean
