Oh and come ON Leona! :D I think #1 is out of reach but hey a solid #2 never did anyone any harm. Still would be amazing if she did top Duffy, keeping in mind there's still Sports Relief to come yet. :dance:

though her Sports Relief performance will be of Footprints In The Sand so if anything the download of that will go up on Fri night and Saturday most probably leaving Leona with 2 entries of the same song in the top 20 on Sunday :rolleyes:

I think I preferred yesterdays predictions :lol: Looks like Leona may catch Duffy by Sunday - although I would much prefer a 5th week at the top for Duffy. I alos hope Alphabeat can break the top 5 by Sunday, and that One Republic stay at their climb to 3.

I've done a bit of extrapolation, and it would appear that Leona's sales are increasing at a slightly higher rate than Duffy's in terms of the transition from Tuesday mids to Wednesday mids:

 

Sales for Duffy: 12.3k Tue ->18.4k Wed (+6.1k) (Tuesday mid estimate based on projection for week-end of 18.4k grossed up to 40k and interpolated back to Tuesday mids)

Sales for Leona: 6.3k Tue -> 13.2k Wed (+6.9k) (Tuesday mid estimate based on interpolation of Tuesday mids for #8 last week (Westlife 15.1k = 4.6k Tuesday mids; 5.7k estimated total for #29 = 1.7k Tuesday mids)

 

Sales rate increases:

 

Sales for Duffy: 12.3k to Tue; 6.1k Wed (50% of Tue total);

Sales for Leona: 6.3k to Tue; 6.9k Wed (110% of Tue total).

 

more importantly, Saturday's sales, which are naturally high, will follow the Sports Relief performance on Friday, which should give sales a huge boost.

The 6.3k is based on my estimates of the combined sales for being at #8 with BIT download and #29 with BIT/FITS physical.

 

Its not an exact figure as there doesn't seem to be any sales data for Tuesday's midweeks but its my best guess.

I'm in favour of Duffy remaining at #1 for s 5th week, I actually prefer proper singles at #1 rather than a charity one, I'm not been mean about charitys, I just think there are too many singles every year, where some pf the proceeds are donated to some charity, where better money can be spend elsewhere.

I agree, £3.99 for a any single is too expensive. But I'm really hoping Leona gets #1 - I love both songs :)

So the Leona Lewis - Better In Time / Footprints In The Sand debuted at no 2 because last week Better In Time / Footprints In The Sand out of the chart. Only i see better in time....
