Whenever I hear the paper-thin chorus, I always think of the Groovejet/Sophie EB single....

They are similar, but that could only be a fabulous thing. Groovejet & SEB have one of the greatest singles of the past decade.

'groovejet (if this aint love)' though is a far better track, fondly remembered 8 years later... i VERY much doubt anyone will be looking back on 'if this is love' with such fondness. in fact, i KNOW they wont (apart from die hard fans - who dont count! )

what are your reasons for sayig this? the song is lifeless quite frankly boring. she has released much better solo stuff.

I have to agree with rossboy, I think Groovejet is boring. Loads of better dance songs were released that year. And I pretty much prefer all of Sophie's singles over it except Me And My Imagination and Music Gets The Best Of Me.

#9 isn't great, but that was to happen with the joint download/CD date, and it's climbing iTunes. I'm still 100% it'll end up Top 5.

i was expecting top 5 in todays mids however i think it will climb as the week goes on and will peak around number 4.

9# is a massive flop, anything below 5# and the record company wont throw anymore money into the project and flush them.

That's not really an excuse, didn't The Ting Tings get to #1 on a joint download/CD release? I'm sure that this had much more hype surrounding it too.

I listened to Up the other day and TBH its not all its made out to be... Dont get me wrong I like the song and I think the girls as a group could definately work, but 'Up' isnt that much better than ITIL TBH!

 

Maybe theyre getting the backlash of 'Over-hype' but Top 10 is still a great achievement TBH!

Good, top 10 on iTunes is exactly what it needs to get an extra push, it nearly always happens when a song manages to get in there.

I didn't know why people predicted top 3 for this song. It was only at #22 at the time on itunes when some people predicted that. When it rose to #11 and the mids came in people were dissapointed with #9, but i think its quite good. I didn't expect it to do well at all.
