The unprecedented gathering features vocals from Mariah Carey, Beyoncé, Mary J. Blige, Rihanna, Fergie, Sheryl Crow, Miley Cyrus, Melissa Etheridge, Ashanti, Natasha Bedingfield, Keyshia Cole, Ciara, Leona Lewis, LeAnn Rimes and Carrie Underwood. The tune is being produced by the powerhouse duo of Kenny "Babyface" Edmonds and Antonio "L.A." Reid, who are working together for the first time in nearly 20 years.

The song will be available for purchase exclusively on iTunes on September 2 and will get its TV premiere on September 5 during the live "Just Stand Up" special, which will air simultaneously and commercial-free on CBS, ABC and NBC. According to a press release announcing the project, the song was conceived by Reid, the chairman of the Island Def Jam Music Group, after a meeting with the women behind the Stand Up to Cancer campaign.

If it gets proper tv promotion (i'm not talking about videoplay) and if it has a proper meaning then yes.
Amazing lineup which is ruined by the vile creature also known as Miley Cyrus

Whilst that is an amazing line-up, I can imagine this being $h!t. They'll all try to out sing each other and it will sound a complete mess.

But it's for a good cause and it'll sell well

That's what I think it'll be like too. Has the potential to be massive though.

What the hell at Miley Cyrus
:o on paper... SOUNDS AMAZING! I hope the song is good!

Well Annie Lennox's 2007 Chariddee single with an all star line up (Anastacia, Isobel Campbell, Dido, Céline Dion, Melissa Etheridge, Fergie, Beth Gibbons, Faith Hill, Angelique Kidjo, Beverley Knight, Gladys Knight, k.d. lang, Madonna, Sarah McLachlan, Beth Orton, Pink, Kelis, Bonnie Raitt, Shakira, Shingai Shoniwa, Joss Stone, Sugababes, KT Tunstall, and Martha Wainwright) "Sing" for Nelson Mandela's Aids Charity was not exactly a huge hit single was it.

Mind you that was probably because it was musically awful.

Get ready for mass projectile vomiting if this ever survaces

This is what I'm thinking about this song. It looks good on paper, but it could be as awful as that song was. :(

f*** Miley Cyrus, she has had all of 2 singles. And they both suck and only appeal to people under the age of 13.

Tbh, people might not like Miley, but she is BIG in teen America and as they say every download counts.

But, tbh i agree with so many stars it will sound like a mess!

This is going to be great, sales-wise.

But I hope the vocals of them together don't make it messy!

I hope its amazing and my fave singers are prominant (like Leona, Mariah, Natasha, Beyonce and Carrie) on the record. It could go either way and be massive or do a Annie Lennox charity single chart performance!
I think it'll be a massive FLOP you know. :/
