Multiple formats is standard practice and has been around for many years so I don't see what the fuss is about at all. I have been harsh on McFly in the past, but I don't think it is warranted in this case.

Oh that's getting boring now, we can voice our opinions, and if we don't like McFly and we want to slag them off because we think they're are useless t**** in the charts, that's up to us!

Lately it's been all about "oh they are so mature now, you HAVE TO love them or shut up".

I think they're $h!t, I think they have gone rubbish after album 1, and I think they're chart cheatters, and that's it. If you don't like, I couldn't care less.

good for you

yes everyone has an opinion and thats something i don't mind

however it's annoying when its allways mcfly did this,Mcfly do that ....

your very mature mind chart cheatters

I NEVER slag other acts off as i've got better thing to do

if i don't like someone what sort of kick would i get out of badmouthing them?

it's just a waste of my time

with all the problem's going on in the World and all you seem to care about is slagging mcfly off for having too many downloads

Edited by itsme123

Next time Girls Aloud, The Saturdays, Sugababes, Leona Lewis or Britney Spears release a single I'm going to start a thread saying they're a chart cheat. Especially if A.) they release a download AND a physical (DOWN WITH THOSE MULTIPLE FORMATS!), B.) they do ANY kind of promotion (How DESPERATE to want people to KNOW and HEAR your track!) and C.) there's a signing (what kind of IDIOT artist would want to give their fans the pleasure of MEETING their FAVOURITE popstar? What UTTER MORONS!).

Totally agree again with this. We can't all like the same people. If we all went around slagging off those we don't like, that would really be boring and very hurtful for those who do like the ones we don't.

I've not been keen on MyFly's earlier releases, but I do think they are trying to put out something a bit different. They obviously want a career in music, so why not give them a chance to prove they can do that, rather than just hearing the name McFly and closing our minds. They may look to be using desperation measures sometimes, but once they get themselves an established base to work from they may be able to do things differently.

Just my opinion.

good luck to McFly in my opinion :D

they put a lot of effort into meeting their fans and trying to constantly reach out to a wider audience, if they were hungry for high chart positions, would they really have given their album out free with a newspaper?

despite being one of my favourite songs of the decade, I'm certain that Robyn only got to No.1 last year because of the multiple versions available...at the time she was No.1, she had about 4 different versions of the track in the iTunes top 100, if it had only been one version she may have stalled at No.2...I don't recall anyone complaining that she had rigged the chart, and I for one, bought three of those four versions. I don't feel like I was being manipulated, I just wanted all three versions

Gosh, they really are pushing their luck

Even with the support of Radio 1 and Radio 2, they couldn't make the top10 on Itunes, so that sum it up the whole thing really.

But i'm pleased they've made their highest peak on itunes ever with their best ever song (which isn't anything amazing but it made top 20 on my chart)

And everyone will bite your head off :P but do it and i'll defend you and so will so many others actually . I wonder how many versions Leona, Girls Aloud, Saturdays or Sugababes will release with their upcoming singles  :P ?

Well that's pathetically immature. :/ Chart cheaters? Most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. You sound like a bloody Marxist.

Oh come on Jark, give me a break, yes I think they're $h!t, and I may possibly repeat it everytime a new McFly thread is posted. Itsme123 posts on Buzzjack ONLY when McFly releases something, and he NEVER posts about anything else, so yeah he's getting on my nerves and makes me hate McFly even more, and if it's pathetic I don't care, that's what I think, and that's it...

what annoys me is that whatever mcfly do people slag them off if your not a fan why do you care so much what they do?

They have to find some way of getting the money back from what they put into their label fans have a chance on what to buy half of them only buy 1 or 2 cds and the odd download anyway

as for the album they have never done so much of a big promotion with an album plus it's not only mcfly that do it ------------------

HELP TAKE THAT RULE THE WORLD!! etc, etc, etc

I did find that funny ... and thought that the post may have had more meaning if the poster formerly known as flying the flag had removed that sig prior to posting.

I don't see what the fuss is about McFly ... I like this song ... and I've liked probably 80% of the stuff they've released thus far. I remember (when I was younger) buying several versions of ELO's Sweet Talking Woman (pink vinyl, ordinary vinyl, blue vinyl, dotted vinyl).

I would like to take this opportunity to say though, being older, wiser (and more tight-fisted) now, I am one of the many Take That fans who purchased just one solitary copy of RTW!

Norma

i personally dont think it is one of their best songs and it seems they know it i mean why do they need to release all these different versions?? i dont think it deserves to be No.1 especially when there is a lot more better songs in the top ten
other acts don't bombard their fans with texts, messages, and all sorts reminding them the single is out  I really thought McFly would tone that down on their own label.

I can name a few acts that do

I really like this song ^_^ I hope it does really well, and tbh they don't seem to be 'cheating' at all.

I don't think that's true actually. I've had lots of messages from two acts who are releasing next week, even though I'm not even on the mailing list of one of them.

Well that's pathetically immature. :/ Chart cheaters? Most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. You sound like a bloody Marxist.

First of all, nothing wrong with a marxist.

And secondly, i see them as chart cheaters too, its so much desperation, we arent talking about just giving fans a few extra downloads. Its the begging on internet blogs for people to buy new downloads to get them to number 1 that did it for me. Cheap little men who only get cheaper by continuously taking their clothes off for as much limelight as they can grasp hold of.

lol oh yeh coz having a full release is really the same as releasing multiple downloads and begging for extra sales.

Hahaha, how typical, I just about managed to register and first thing I run into is a McFLY topic, lols. Just want to point out two things;

1. This isn't the first, nor the last time they've done this. And by far the only band that has. But alas, this is McFLY; whatever they do is 'OmmGzz shaMMeeefulll'. We've said that just about million times, but nobody ever listens. Ah well.

2. All the 'pocket money, children, prepubescent girls' jazz; I believe somebody said that they went past a signing today or something? And there was no children? Um well, yeah we grow as well, y'know. We're not stuck in time as far as I'm aware. I'm 19 this year and a proud McFLY fan at that. I don't even know any McFLY fan under 14 or 15 and I know loads of them, haha.

Ok, I don't wanna sound hateful or anything, so I'm gonna throw this in as well; diss them if you want to, but please, have a valid reason. The lame excuses are even worse than the old 'DOUGIE, MARRY ME' teenies, lols.

(:

LOL I think you registered because you saw this topic and wanted to reply

btw for me "children" are also the 15-18 year old boys and girls too :P

but tbh I don't really care what mcfly do. Promotion is a tool to make money and push products and lets face it, music (CD) is a product too. With clever promotion you can be successful (no matter if it's McFly or whoever). I just wish sometimes the record labels of Kylie or Madonna would learn from these little "cheats" (if we say so) because in the near past they've screwed up a lot of single releases. -_-

lol oh yeh coz having a full release is really the same as releasing multiple downloads and begging for extra sales.

But they're not really begging with this are they? Extra remixes... most acts nowadays do this. Extra formats... yep yet again absolutely tons of acts do this, and no-one accuses them of cheating to get to a decent place in the charts. Signings... yet again tons of acts do this (and this is actually really good. Not enough acts do signings around the country). All they're doing is promoting really, it's in the same vein as performing on a major TV show and then being told the download or whatever is avaliable now. Same sort of principle, just maybe a little more suttle.

hold on a sec

the last time they went naked was last year and another thing yes they used to send blog after blog

but with lies they have written 1 myspace blog and sent out 1 email letting fans know about whats out

nothing else

whats it got to do with you?

if i want to post about Mcfly and only Mcfly i will

it's like signing up to a soap forum and only talking about Eastenders or signing up to a sports one and only talking about Man u

its a free site so why cant you talk about what you want?

and if someone that talks about Mcfly makes you hate them more then i think you need to grow up

you talk about Mcfly fans being imature

i guess you need to look a little closer to home
