It was also the first #1 by a UK act since McFly in May 2007. If That’s OK With You became the first track to be listed on the chart separately both as part of a double A-side and as an album track when the album was released (Leona Lewis would later manage this with Footprints In The Sand). #16 had been physically released a couple of months previously – its use in an advert catapulted it up to #8. Katie Melua (at #23) would in fact get to #1 with her next hit (her version of What A Wonderful World with Eva Cassidy). #26, #40, #57, #59, #64 and #65 were all from High School Musical 2. #27 had originally charted at #70 5 weeks previously – it recharted thanks to Scott Mills. It became the shortest top 40 single ever (a record that had already been broken twice in 2007). Leann Rimes was new at #48 exactly one year to the week after her previous hit had also entered and peaked at #48. This was The Wurzels’ second chart hit of the year (and their 4th of the 2000s) – a remake of I Am A Cider Drinker had charted in May 2007. #72 recharted a few weeks ago, making #58 last week. #74 was a re-issue of their debut hit (#33 in August 2006).
October 1, 200816 yr Gabriella & Troy - Gotta Go My Own Way The best track from High School Musical 2 perhaps from HSM! -_-
October 1, 200816 yr Not a great chart, but i do like the No.1, so in fact DJ Otzi was not the record holder to jump from #45 to #1
October 2, 200816 yr Not a great chart, but i do like the No.1, so in fact DJ Otzi was not the record holder to jump from #45 to #1 guessing that particular song would've been import switching over to UK version the next week, so wouldn't count for this
October 3, 200816 yr who could have predicted how big Valerie was going to be at this point :o I thought it was going to be massive. Maybe not half a million sales but i knew it would be overplayed for years and unfortunately i was right :( 2 (-) Shayne Ward – No U Hang Up / If That’s OK With You 3 (2) 50 Cent ft Justin Timberlake & Timbaland – Ayo Technology 4 (1) Sean Kingston – Beautiful Girls 6 (3) Plain White T’s – Hey There Delilah 7 (4) Kanye West – Stronger 8 (5) James Blunt – 1973 All of these were meh at best :( . However Kanye made up for it with two amazing singles that followed it
October 3, 200816 yr Enrique deserved higher, 'Tired Of Being Sorry' is a better song than 'Do You Know'. :(
