#5 for The Saturdays is amazing. TBH i think most people (me included) thought this might not even scrape top 10, so to sell over 1/3 of 'If This Is Love' total sales in their first week and to go top 5 is incredible.

these are great singers and performers, respected for their talents for their distinctive voices. even if leon didn't come from reality tv. based on his voice and performances....he doesn't have a distinctive voice, more of a michael buble clone. an average singer at best and his performance on x-factor was awkward. he doesn't have the stage presence of elvis, the charm of sinatra or the emotive singing of billy holliday.

Fair enough in your opinion but in mine Leon does have a distinctive voice.

While his performance on XF may have been awkward his performance on This Morning today was anything but. Leon is very new to this and without a doubt has a lot to learn - not all singers are natural performers from the get go some get better with time and experience.

Acutally on my local radio they announced the single as peter kays new single for charity available in tesco etc etc etc.

Anyway, you should be able to like what ever music you want and whoever you want without having someone diss it as c**p just to prove a point.

lol..your devotion is somewhat admirable, you ought to get a pr job for them!

but in reality 'up' was always going to be top ten, im surprises you doubted it, however its hardly 'amazing' or 'incredible' ... adjectives that would be more in context if the sats reached #1 for several weeks. but they wont, and in several weeks time they will be out the top 40, unlike pink, leon, kol, sugababes, who will still be selling.

Tell me about it, one person on another charts forum kept on at me, and it got to a point where I had enough and left in April of this year. Everyone else on that board was really nice, apart from the aforementioned, and one other bully who was just like him. Names won't be mentioned but I guess some of you are aware of it.

I have never ever insulted anyone because of the artists they like, what I and other people like is none of their business. It's a very low way to stoop.

you should be able to have an opinion here and comment positively or negatively on any music and other people should accept that not everyone is going to like the singer they like. its nothing personal, some of us believe in freedom of speech.

Funeral For a Friend looking certain to get 4 top 20 albums in 5 years!, pretty damn impressive achievement that, and they're not even mainstream.

of course, but saying that someone is stupid for the type of music they like is not on! The other say i was called "dim" for liking westlife, whatever.

Exactly, it's a free world.

You really think Leon will be in the top 40 in a few weeks time?

Really? This 'charity' thing seems to have gotten hold. Which station was that? If you don't mind me asking?

LMAO!

Bye Bye Leon

And Mart!n/Mikey please could you tell me how far Keane and MGMT are from the top 20? Thanks

According to a yahoo article, there are only a few hundred copies seperating the top 3 of P!nk, Leon and Geraldine, and that Leon is #2....

This isn't that accurate, imo, as the article quotes the current number 1 as being 'Who Knew' by P!nk.

well put it this way.... i think the saturdays will be out the top 40 before leon.. the point i was making was that the sats chart run will be MUCH shorter then most if not all of the singles they are shareing the top ten with.

I totally disagree. The Saturdays single is a rather catchy tune with a strong musical hook even if the band themselves are a water-down blander hybrid of Girls Aloud, the Sugababes & PCDs; where as the Leon Jackson single is an awful unforgettable sub Daniel O'Donnell effort sung by a teenager who won a reality show thanks to a sob story and the national vote ("a great result for Scotland" Alex Salmond) who can't even hold a tune in a bucket (at least McManus & Brookstein could manage that).

Besides if When You Believe's chart run was {1}-1-1-5-15-27-42-67-71->9 © Polyhex.com, then one can only imagine how poor his new single's chart run is going to be with it already plummeting down the iTunes chart.

I think you meant 'awful forgettable' there Rich! I agree though ... the Saturdays will stay around longer than Leon - and deservedly so. I have a sneaky feeling their song may be around longer than Geraldine's even!

Speaking of Geraldine - there was a great interview today with her about Simon Cowell. The mean sod didn't even send her a bottle of Lucozade or a box of Milk Tray!
