Wave Machines - The Greatest Escape We Ever Made (7”) [Limited]

X Factor Finalists - Hero

D/L Anastacia - I Can Feel You [27/10]

D/L Groove Coverage - Moonlight Shadow [27/10]

Adele - Make You Feel My Love 4/10 Fairly poor imo, i've listened to it twice and after 10 minutes i couldn't even remember how it went, but i remember i didn't like it :P

David Guetta – Tomorrow Can Wait (12”) 7/10 This is good and sticks to previous formulas, unfortunately making it rather repetitive and seems to be going along the Bob Sinclair root by releasing very samey songs, however he has far better tracks unreleased in the uk, like Delirious:

http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=wiG-TgYjHP8

Dido - Don't Believe In Love 4/10 A fairly dull song from a fairly dull artist, however it has grown on me, but after 5 years i expected better.

Laura Marling – Night Terror (7”) 4/10 Don't understand the proportionally large hype (on BJ)

Razorlight – Wire To Wire 10/10 Brilliant song, great piano and well composed

Robin Thicke – Magic 8/10 Surprisingly great! Really catchy

The View – 5 Rebbeccas 3/10 Another extremely shoddy indie comeback

X Factor Finalists - Hero 3/10 If this had nothing to do with X Factor i might like it a bit more, but its just another rehashed, boring and uncreative cover designed to fill Cowell's pockets (considering 29p goes to charity, and its selling loads of physicals that are £3.99 each, i doubt the artists get any royalties so will make about £2.50 profit per CD i reckon) :(

D/L Anastacia - I Can Feel You [27/10] 5/10 Awwww, its not that bad

D/L Groove Coverage - Moonlight Shadow [27/10] 4/10 This is so old! I know the UK normally gets songs last but this was released in europe in 2006 i think! And the song is poor, though their 2nd best after Poison. They are like a 00's version of N Trance, with one great song and the rest is horrible, dated, cheesy c**p! Like "God Is A Girl"

http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=oJIpK8xURBk

So quite a few low profile releases minus X Factor and Razorlight, most of which are poor <_<

Adele - Make You Feel My Love 8/10 - Beautiful song/cover. I really like it!

Dido - Don't Believe In Love 3/10 - Boring, Dull, Bland... DISAPPOINTING! -_-

Razorlight – Wire To Wire 0/10 - One of my least fave songs of the year :puke:

Robin Thicke – Magic 7/10 - Very good! Very catchy. Much better than his previous stuff!

The View – 5 Rebbeccas 0/10 - For the simple fact I can't remember it!

X Factor Finalists - Hero 9/10 - I am one of the few people who actually bought it, coz I like it

D/L Anastacia - I Can Feel You [27/10] 4/10 - Oh dear. After hearing clips from her album, leaves you wondering, why did she release this??

SINGLE OF THE WEEK

Late Of The Pier – Bathroom Gurgle (12”) - 10/10

As the standout track from one of the years best albums it's always been crying for another release. There's pretty much nothing that doesn't happen in this song, if there's a more energetic yet spectacularly brilliant 4 1/2 minutes of music this year then I've not heard it yet!

Laura Marling – Night Terror (7”) - 6/10

Pleasant enough but there are better songs on the album to release.

Lykke Li – Little Bit (12”) - 8/10

After loving 'I'm Good I'm Gone' this has restored my faith in Lykke as I was pretty disappointed with the previous single. The album may be worth investing in after all.

Roots Manuva - Let The Spirit (7”+12”) - 8/10

Another great single from the years best rap album.

The View – 5 Rebbeccas - 7/10

This isn't just good for a View song, this is actually good. It's nothing more than generic indie but it's actually quite catchy and sees them reach the heights they promised with 'Wasted Little DJs'. It's a huge shame that of all the generic indie comebacks this year (Pigeon Detectives, The Automatic, Kaiser Chiefs, Fratellis, Razorlight, The Feeling) these are the only act that haven't released majorly substandard material as a lead single yet it's also the only one that hasn't recieved the support that previous singles have.

AVOID

X Factor Finalists - Hero - 0/10

Awful song. Awful version. The public once more gets a huge shafting up the arse from Simon Cowell and his inflamed ego.

Adele - Make You Feel My Love - Not as good as the other three but i do think this is a beauty of a song. 8.5/10

Dido - Don't Believe In Love - One word. Dull. Another word. Bland. A third. Forgettable 3/10

Razorlight - Wire To Wire - I do wish they'd bugger off and do some good music ala Golden Touch 2/10

X Factor Finalists - Hero - I shoudnt i know, but i do sort of like this. 8/10

D/L Anastacia - I Can Feel You [27/10] - Nice enough but a big dissapointment 8/10

Late Of The Pier – Bathroom Gurgle

Lykke Li – Little Bit

The only two worth getting tbh. ;o Both lovely though.

Razor$h!te - Wire To Wire 0/10 complete $h!te.
Razorlight – Wire To Wire 0/10 - One of my least fave songs of the year :puke:

Razorlight - Wire To Wire - I do wish they'd bugger off and do some good music ala Golden Touch 2/10

Razor$h!te - Wire To Wire 0/10 complete $h!te.

Agree with these three. Especially with the 411 - they used to make good songs like Golden Touch and Vice and now look at them. :puke2:

Complete $h!te as Chris puts perfectly -_-

Laura Marling - Night Terror 7/10

As RFC says, there are much better songs on the album, but I still like this

Lykke Li - Little Bit 8/10

I like 'I'm Good, I'm Gone' and 'Breaking It Up' more, but this is still fantastic

Late of the Pier - Bathroom Gurgle 9/10

SIMPLY FANTASTIC

Razorlight song is terrible agreed!

The video is awful as well. You get the impression the rest of theband are just being dragged along with all this tripe that Borrell's coming out with!

Bring back Golden Touch, Rip it Up, Vice, etc

At Reading 2007, when Razorlight came on stage i was standing around a fire chanting 'Razor$h!te' with a load of people i have never met before and we all put are underwear on the fire and then some out weed on it, then some drunk person (well everyone was a drunk person) came along and poured sugar on the fire and stated it would smell nice, good old drunken-razor$h!tehating-festival momments, soon after a security guy came and put the fir out and we chanegd the 'razor$h!te' cant to 'w*n**r' then i proceeded to go and see Ash. fun times.

that was completly on topic trust.

See there are a few stragglers that like them :P :D

Edited by Harve

I only like Adele's .

The rest are either 'meh', couldn't care less, boring, repetitive or unoriginal.

Adele - Make You Feel My Love 7/10 - A rather solid heartfelt cover of the Bob Dylan standard from her overrated album 19.

Dido - Don't Believe In Love 6/10 - Musically a rather mediocre effort especially considering the time that has elapsed since her last album. It's saving grace being the rather entertaining lyrics.

Late Of The Pier – Bathroom Gurgle 10/10 - This reissue from Nottingham's finest is taken from the best album I've heard all year Fantasy Black Channel. Musically their is more going on in this track than on a Dido album. Something is very wrong with the British music scene that they are not already the biggest thing in Indie/Alternative music right now.

Laura Marling – Night Terror 9/10 - Another gem taken from the brilliant Alas I Cannot Swim album, it is a travesty that Laura is not more successful than she is currently.

Lykke Li – Little Bit 7/10 - A very good effort from the Swedish indie singer.

Razorlight – Wire To Wire 8/10 - A surprisingly good effort. Despite possessing Johnny Borrell this singles hymn like qualities make a very positive impact.

Robin Thicke – Magic 4/10 - Blander than a Dido comeback single.

The View – 5 Rebbeccas 6/10 - The sad fact about this Scottish indie outfit is that they will always be remembered for the appalling Same Jeans big hit single, as this like most of their material is much better.

X Factor Finalists - Hero -1/10 - When Simon Cowell & The Sun team up to murder a Mariah Carey song .... The words The Work of the Devil spring to mind. Avoid at all cost and buy a poppy instead as a far higher proportion of your money will go to Charity than this Weapon of Musical Destruction.

Anastacia - I Can Feel You 4/10 - The song itself is not a disaster, but when put together with the plastic mutton dressed as lamb video it becomes one. Desperate and miles away from the great Left Outside Alone.
