There should be a male version of the contest every so often <_<

Country: Skall

Act: Franz Ferdinand

Song: Ulysses

Video: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=hzoR-GsStaI

Well it might be considered cheap considering this is a comeback single from a band who have had a million selling album, however by the time the semi final (lets not think of the final :P) it will be far from release. Plus its not the most popular genre :)

Quicksand for the win! :w00t:

A spin-off is being planned :P I wouldn't call it cheap really, FF don't strike me as being particularly BJ friendly  And the final is only next week! :P

Apologies for being thick, but i assume i have to listen to all the entries by then!? I can never remember songs first listen, espescially if i listen to loads of new songs in one chunk. Ah well, at least the brilliant ones will be highlighted :funky:

Then you can pick any song by any artist to be enterred into the next contest. All songs submitted will be split into two semi-finals and we shall all vote for songs in our designated semi final. then the songs with most votes go through to the final where we all vote again and find a winner ^_^

Oh there are some slight limits on song entry, artists may only enter one song into each contest so, for example, you can't pick any songs from Belinda as I've already picked her so check out the first page of this thread to make sure your artist is free.

Also, you may not pick a song which has been enterred into the contest before, so have a quick scan over this thread: http://www.buzzjack.com/forums/index.php?s...=69382&st=0, to make sure it hasn't been enterred before.

Lenka, Pixie and Suzie McNeil are not allowed to be enterred this time round and neither are any songs to have taken part in any Eurovision Song Contest (inc. finals, semi-finals and national finals)

Any questions don't hesitate to ask

And that makes 46!!! Wow!!

Possibly 47....which would be 23 in each semi-final...it'll be a toughie!

Oops. I hope it's not too late to confirm? Pavel is probably asleep now so I'll guess not.

Country: Quotosibb

Artist: Little Boots

Song: Stuck On Repeat

I hope I made the right choice.

OK, Land Of Jack enters this time:

Country: Land Of Jack

Artist: NENA featuring Kim Wilde

Song: Anyplace, Anywhere, Anytime

Oh my goodness!!!!

How did I never think of sending that song?!

It is brilliant! Big points from me if you're in the same semi

I'll bet Pixie was at the top of everyone's list too

moving the contest to the front page on its own was definitely a good idea with all of these new countries, I think before hand some people had looked on it as some sort of Eurovision related contest when it really isn't anything to do with it apart from the scoring system

a good mix of musical styles, men and women, old and new this time around, looks to be a lot less boring and one dimensional than some other contests

To be honest I don't think the new countries we have are a direct result of the contest being on the front page. There are always a few, and we're only just above the previous record.

Sorry for putting a negative spin on it! I think it's great we have new countries and more variety, but I think it's just coincidence to be honest, and possibly more to do with the longer gap between contests - remember we have two months-worth of new contestants.

but it's also a good thing because it further removes it from Eurovision, when it was a sub-forum to the ESC forum it made it look like it was some spin-off of that, and maybe a lot of non-Eurovision fans wouldn't have even looked twice at this forum
