Also, has Catfights and Spotlights gone up since Tuesday's midweek position?

We only have top 40 updates after Tuesday

Any news on Lemar and PCD - Hate this part :D

Lemar single down 9, album not top 40

PCD down 2

im not desprate im sick of these people taking the p*** out of oasis !!

Whoops sorry, thought this was an oasis fan free zone.

Anyway, it was more about it being at #1 at the start of the week, when everyone was going "WTF".

Leona is so gona push britney to 4 by sunday aswell.

I'm not so sure. There were only 54 copies between them yesterday with Leona rapidly closing the gap yet Britney is still ahead today. There was talk that Britney was suffering from the stocking problems after EUK went into administration with some stores having received no advance supplies so maybe that's been addressed.

Wonder if some albums are starting to benefit from the Amazon MP3 Store launch which received huge publicity yesterday. They're selling some of the top albums for just £3 there - Take That, Girls Aloud, Kings Of Leona, Snow Patrol but not others such as Britney, Leona.

Does anyone know if these hugely discounted albums will be allowed to count for the chart?

I thought there was £5 rule in place but having a nagging suspicion that they might have lowered that for digital albums earlier this year.

Oh right, there must be a way of finding out. It would be a shame if they didn't count because I can see Amazon clocking up huge sales with this offer. There are several albums I'm planning to get - 3 for the price of one physical :D

Great to see Will's album as climbed 9 places this week especially with all the new entries :cheer:

3.3 Albums Chart: Budget Albums

Budget albums are excluded from the published Album Charts and are shown on the printed chart report with their

sales index and asterisks (***) in place of a chart position.

If that's so then it makes a nonsense out of the whole thing. A reduced cd is just that - surely - regardless of format and all should be included in the rules.

But that surely means older CDs and cheap compilations and such, not new releases?

Just looked it up on the OCC site:

3.0: Albums Definitions Summary

Product Dealer Price

___________________________________________________________________________

a. Physical Albums

(Budget) 0.50 - 3.75 (Mid price) 3.76 - 5.99 (Full price) 6.00 or over

b. Digital Albums

(Full price) 3.75 or over

For market share purposes a digital variant meeting the above minimum dealer price

will be allocated as a full-price album.

=========

So Budget physicals are excluded but mid and full price aren't.

Depends if dealer price refers to the price it is sold to the customer or by the record company to Amazon. I've emailed the OCC for clarification and will post any reply if I get it, but my reading of it is the minimum price must be:

Physical £3.76 Digital £3.75
