January 20, 200916 yr I was really hoping for GA being nominated in Best Live ! The Best Live category is always dominated by rock/indie band :( Glad they're in Best British Group, though it's obvious Coldplay or Take That will win. :(
January 20, 200916 yr Leona has only released two 'new' songs in the last year-Forgive Me and Footprints In The Sand. Technically didn't she record 'Run' in 2007 in the Live Lounge. and Run technically wasn't a single so perhaps that is why it is not nominated-but then was Viva La Vida actually a single? I can't remember. And as for Leona's huge selling album-it is the same one she had last year, she's just been milking it for all its worth and succeeding this year. If they didn't recognise her last year, they're not going to this year.Actually you could be right! Don't you have to have released a new album in order to get nominated?? Probably why Dizzee was missed off the Best British Male act then ;) Still... The Script were ROBBED! -_-

January 20, 200916 yr so Alexandra gets nominated with Hallelujah, yet they ignored Black & Gold? Black and gold isn't a british single :)
January 20, 200916 yr Tbh, I think one of the most ridiculous nominations is 'Day & Age' for Best International Album
January 20, 200916 yr Tbh, I think one of the most ridiculous nominations is 'Day & Age' for Best International Album :mellow:Not as ridiculous as Ian Brown up for British Male  and Oi you, it's a good album :o :drama:
January 20, 200916 yr As I said in the other thread, happy for Adele and Estelle.. don't expect the latter to win anything though. Gutted for British male talents like Jay Sean and more so Taio Cruz - both had cracking years and instead we get Ian Brown, Paul Weller and The Streets, the last of whom I'll admit is fantastic but hasn't exactly had a great era... The only one I think is a given is James Morrison winning Best British Male... and I'd be happy with that.
January 20, 200916 yr Tbh, I think one of the most ridiculous nominations is 'Day & Age' for Best International Album  I know. Why is it there? It should be British. Edited January 20, 200916 yr by funmaker11
January 20, 200916 yr I didn't expect to see Fleet Foxes up for two awards although I'm not complaning. Good set of nominations if it wasn't for the crap Scouting for Girls
January 20, 200916 yr In all honesty those nominations are AWFUL! Leona should have "Run" up for Best Single not "Better In Time" Leona should be up for Best Female Girls Aloud should be up for Best Group The Saturdays should be up for Best Single with "Up" They are aren't they? It seems they've conspired to deprive Leona of an award ... by putting BIT up ahead of Run and to not have her in the Best British Female nominations is downright appalling! I agreed that last year was too early for her to get awards ... the nominations were enough of a nod but she's been thoroughly robbed this year! Norma
January 20, 200916 yr I'm glad you said that Norma, people were very angry at Kate Nash getting the award and not Leona but it was WAY early for her to take a BRIT... very surprised this year though to not see her. Run I can understand as it didn't get a proper release?
January 20, 200916 yr I know. Why is it there? It should be British. Seeing as they're American it would be even more ridiculous for it to be in the British Album category though!

Run I can understand as it didn't get a proper release?I could understand that if Coldplay wasn't nominated for that award! ;) That's in exactly the same position as Leona's 'Run'
January 20, 200916 yr I was really hoping for GA being nominated in Best Live ! The Best Live category is always dominated by rock/indie band :( Glad they're in Best British Group, though it's obvious Coldplay or Take That will win. :( Bertie! Its obvious Coldplay will win Best Band. No way will the Brits panel have pure pop like Take That or Girls Aloud win! 2010 will have to be Take That's year ... they should be back to multiple nominations - Single, Album, Live Act and possibly Band again! They'll just have to be satisfied with the nomination this year. Besides ... one quarter of Take That and two fifths of Girls Aloud should be busy training for that climb ... not fannying about at an awards show! Isn't it time you got rid of the 'Xmas' Bertie? Norma PS - Chris - if you're here - Pickles! Edited January 20, 200916 yr by Norma_Snockers
