January 30, 200916 yr I haven't heard 'I Got U Dancing' yet. But 'So Human' is (along with Kelly C and Calvin Harris) one of the best records this year! 2009 is looking very promising so far!
February 1, 200916 yr I Got U Dancing 8L66w0qtLDU 'I got you dancing, got you doing it d-doing it'
February 1, 200916 yr ^^ Never thought much of 'I Got You Dancing' when I first heard it, but I absolutely love it now. The bridge part is wonderful  Love the video too :o Looks like she doesn't take herself too seriously which is good!
February 4, 200916 yr Mmm, I've decided that this is actually very good. She sounds like a female Dappy and you'd think it was written by him too but it's so infectious.
February 5, 200916 yr She's far more than N-Dubz will EVER be. Calling her a female Dappy is almost an insult tbh.
February 5, 200916 yr she used to be really annoying though, possibly my least favourite female singer 9 to 5 was ok, but the rest of her first few singles were really awful, she had a good couple of songs last time around and now it seems she's on the way to stardom, thank god she's improved
February 5, 200916 yr She's far more than N-Dubz will EVER be. Calling her a female Dappy is almost an insult tbh. Not really. I find both of them chavvy but alright with slightly grating voices and...interesting lyrics. Things like "shoulda seen me running out the studio like Forrest Gump" and "I'm missing my shepherd's pie like a high maintenance chick missing her diamonds" are on par with any ridiculous lyrics that N-Dubz use. Actually, I've only heard a few of her songs but she seems to be one of those artists that you can't take seriously. "So Human" is better than anything N-Dubz will ever do though, mostly because the music is so good.
February 5, 200916 yr Oh I'm ot gonna try to argue about her older stuff. :o Twas definitely chavvy in places (though I still think it has more artistic credit than any other sorta stuff like it, and she's always been a fairly intelligent person), but it's clearly that she's taken quite an opposite approach for this new era completely different from anything N-Dubz can ever hope to do.
February 5, 200916 yr I just said she sounded like a female Dappy (her voice does have a chavvy sound to it, like him) and that it sounds like this could have been written by him. (some of the lyrics are ridiculous, but it makes her endearing I think) I can't really compare her two eras but the start of this one is making me want to hear more of her old stuff so she must be doing something right. Except the awful cover art for the album. Seriously, it looks like someone just discovered Photshop/Paint Shop Pro and made a collage of Myspace photos with some tacky text added. Anyway, I'm gonna go be a bandwagon follower and listen to her first album.
February 7, 200916 yr Author Lady Soovereign used to be awful. I seriously could just not stand her. Her whole chav image look was just a complete turn-off to me. I couldn't bare to take her seriously, especially as when she first emerged the new age chav culture was emerging and it was just urgh. I know what Aaron means about her being a female Dappy. They're both quiet different, but they do both have a bit of quirky/weirdness used in their lyrcis. Her voice is still kind of annoying however. But with this it's a real pleaser. I think it's a bit like Kanye West with Stronger. Both songs rely on the sample MASSIVELY, but they both use it really well, and both songs also take the really catchy lyrics of the originals and place them into the sampled versions of the songs.
February 8, 200916 yr Erm, I don't think Lady Sov was ever intending to be particularly "serious" before? Most of her debut is quite light-hearted with a few more serious songs (which work when you listen to them). She's just the product of a certain working class subculture. She never intended on being some musically genius person. She used her MC skills to humorous effect, nothing more nothing less. It obviously doesn't appeal to many here (but then when does any rapping?) With her sophomore record she's obviously taking in her experiences in the US, ingesting the different cultures and music she's experienced during the promotion for her debut. She wrote her debut mostly in London and when she living here all the time. Album two is natural and proper artistic growth. Which any proper music fan loves to see I'm sure.
February 12, 200916 yr I've always loved Sov, went to see her with the first album and she was FANTASTIC, 'Public Warning' is so good, 'I Got U Dancing' is her best song ever and I like this too, I suspect it will grow on me more, I really hope she has a huge year!
February 24, 200916 yr I love it! It's funny and quite simple, but in a good way. I hope this is big for her.
February 24, 200916 yr The video is brill! The song just gets better on every listen! BETTER GO TOP 3 AT LEAST! Edited February 24, 200916 yr by Jonjo
February 24, 200916 yr her early stuff was beyond horrific, but I Got You Dancin is quite epic. Not decided on So Human yet
