March 4, 200916 yr Unfortunately that's the power of the those behind Radio Suggy. That's what we've had to contend with for Gareth since 2003. He too stood no chance when he couldn't get his music heard by the masses. If they get it into their heads an artist isn't going to do well, they usually get their way. At least Will has had the chance to really establish himself before this started to happen to him, unlike Gareth. So glad Gareth is out of the rat-race at the moment and is showing people who didn't already realize just how good his voice is. Oh I agree Val about the airplay, but the music industry is a lot different now and the UK is not very solo male friendly (or british friendly) at the moment, thankfully Radio2 has always been great with Will though, so was Capital etc until last year when it was taken over by global radio, so it's a shame about that group of radio stations, but it's not just happening to Will and unless you're r&b, duet with an American or are an American, the airplay isn't so good, it's all about the girls and bands for now. Will's very lucky in that he can still get on tv, tour and sell albums and he seems a hell of a lot happier just doing his own thing and the music he wants to do, he's having his tonsils out next month, but then he's doing the festivals again and working on another 2 albums, so he'll be fine, but for our own singers, unless you're the flavour of the month newie, it's tough going. If Katy Perry had brought out "Nice Boys" instead of Amy Studt, she'd probably be top 10 on airplay and top 10 in the singles chart. Edited March 4, 200916 yr by suggy
March 4, 200916 yr And I thought the top 3 last week was the worst I could remember... Two new versions of 80's songs making up the latest top two :( The Saturdays with their bland, dumbed-downed version of Depeche Mode's Just Can't Get Enough...and they're beaten by the ridiculously awful (and somehow even worse) Flo-Rida with his garbled mish-mash of a Dead Or Alive track. Wake me up when it's all over! On a positive note, I actually like the new one from The Script, first one of theirs that I like :D

The thing is what I like about Will Young he has broken away from the world of the reality mob, and doing his own thing without been manufactured for example Leona Lewis, don't get me wrong I'm not having a dig at Leona fans here, I love her music just using her as an example, before anyone jumps down my throat regarding Leona. Its nice seeing an act from a reality show still doing so well where others have struggled like Ray Quinn, and hopefully Leon Jackson.

It went from less than 16.9k yesterday to over 28.1k today. :o I really like the top 5 singles today, good stuff all round. ^_^

March 4, 200916 yr Dont like the Flo Rida song and im not keen on The Sturdays new song either so i hope Kelly Clarkson can claw the number 1 back,i was hoping Take That may have climbed so im disappointed although its good they havent dropped either
