Noooo :(. Such an undeserving #01, I mean I know it isn't my usual type of music but at least I can sometimes see the appeal, but with this I can't at all. It just seems SO bland.

To be fair, I don't think Kasabian's comeback has been that hyped. I've not seen much promo for it. Their record company released a free single beforehand which imo, is very good promotion but it's not really hyped and in your face. I think just the fact that its been 3 years, and they've announced themselves for a few big gigs (most notably they're 2nd headliners on the Main Stage at Glastonbury on the Saturday I think..). That's good promo. Also I don't think the song itself is too bad really, i've heard better from them, but that isn't always the way it works with artists. Just look at The Killers and Mr. Brightside for example.

The Noisettes also reached No1 on iTunes on Wednesday afternoon… I reckon Kasabian will need to be 25-30% of the BEP’s by the end of tomorrow to stand any chance of overtaking them.

 

I don’t see how Kasabian are hyped at all; while Fire isn’t their best effort, it's still vastly superior to Islands In The Stream and My Life Would Suck.

I agree that it's superior to 'Islands In The Stream' but that's hardly difficult really is it? :P Meh, it's just not to my taste really. But like I said before I could previously see the appeal with other big indie #01's such as ''Sex On Fire'' [which I even liked for a while before it got completely overplayed :P] but with this I really don't.

I wonder if Black Eyed Peas will regain the #1 at the end of the week ...

For me, Fire is the worst #1 of the year, if it makes it. I won't chart it, but it's far from the worst song of the year, it's just not acquired to my taste.

Fire is actually a good record but its not their best, if it goes to #1 it be great at least for the Indie genre. The Indie genre needs some life back in the charts.

Go Katy - so glad WUIV is a success(ish), it's one of her best from the album.

I wish Katy's album was benefitting from her releases! :drama: It deserves to be a Top 10 album :( It's so under rated and I really hope in the next couple of weeks we can see the album at the top end of the charts!
