I'm torn between sending a song that I LIKE and think might do well and a song that I LOVE and think would bomb. DILEMMA. I guess I could always use the one I don't choose in the next contest.
But by then you probably have another list of selection (in most people this is the case ).
Currently I'm contemplating sending a pop band who's like a mixture of Donkeyboy and Aqua! :music:

Send a song you love, but think would bomb - a lot of the time, what you expect to do badly, seems to throw up your higher placings :P

I personally think that it's better to send a song you love than sending one to try to do well. The doing well part is just a bonus of seeing people discover/love a song you adore.

Doing this saw my country finish 4th for the year 2011 overall and so far this year has given me two 2nd places.

So you're suggesting you had been doing the latter until 2011? :kink:

Always go for the song you love the most. I'm still yet to do the other option despite 'throwing away' (if not sending something that you don't care for could be seen as that) some obvious/actual winners - but I never really consider sending anything that isn't a 9.5/10 in my mind at LEAST, regardless of whether I think it might be a landslide winner. If I can't get behind my entry myself then it's not worthy of representing FSR Rontvia.

No, the quality of the songs I was sending improved not how much I loved them. I'd never send something with the aim of doing well. Well, apart from maybe my debut but we were all doing the same thing.

My first entry was highly inspired!

I've never sent anything better (in terms of how much I personally like it) :P

This is quite true. Although it suffered for two reasons. 1- the 'Delta Curse' and 2- That infernal Live Video! It's your own NGDA-gate. :P

I suppose the corny gospel choir made it far less epic than the studio version...

For some reason I didn't know that we could just send picture videos of studio versions until the second contest (when iirc my video for Stumble was soundtracking a Nicole Kidman montage )

There also comes a point where you have cut all the selection between 2 songs and they're both at the same top quality which is a pain in the back. I STILL can't find any positive factors about one which the other lacks :drama:

Enjoy :P

Now for serious the calendar dates:

Confirmation: 25 March 2012 (between 1745 and 1815 UK time)

Semi-Final Voting: 03 Apr 2012

Semi-Final Results: 13 Apr 2012

Final Voting: 14 Apr 2012

Final Results: 24 Apr 2012

I know that most of you already have that sad look on your face and ask that why this contest will last forever, but I have no other choice but to go with the dates mentioned above and this is all due to my work schedule and travelling that is going to clash with this contest. I am expecting you to understand me. Thanks.

Dates seem fine Addy, although I won't be around for confirmation again, maybe not until the following day. I hope I don't find anything in the meantime that I'm dying to confirm!
Urgh I can confirm and vote in the final, just not the semi final :( Probably gonna have to miss this one out!
Nah it's perfectly fine, at least confirmation is open this weekend. One of my potential entries isn't released yet in 256kps+ format which is bugging me -_-

Added to the opening post! Will edit City/Country details into the subheading in a sec.

Glad we could reach a solution that worked around your schedule.

Pray tell? I managed two holidays last year (totalling 6weeks) without missing an edition despite having patchy internet access and rather infamously confirmed for BJSC XIV on a rather minging free computer in Singapore Airport.
