What a great week for new additions, Jay-Z, Miley, Imagine Dragons. That Lana song is one of her better efforts too.

Jaystin, Miley, Rudimental and indeed Imagine Dragons being given another chance to be the huge it is destined to be. I really hope it properly takes off this time! 'Demons' for release after would be great though

I'm not sure 'It's Time' was actually pushed as a single here before, it was briefly on the R1 playlist but I think that was an error and it was 'Radioactive' on there the whole time. Nonetheless, hope it can still become a big hit now it actually has a coherent release campaign. Woo for Jay-Z, Calvin and Rudimental also (not heard any of their songs yet though). Didn't know we were going to get another Lana single, good to see R1 aren't snubbing her now, still don't get why they ignored 'Young And Beautiful'!
I would laugh if 'Bubble Butt' becomes a hit. This post has been edited by Bré: Jul 10 2013, 04:53 PM |

YES for Miley, even if it was obvious that they would playlist her. I love Rudimental and Calvins new songs too.

No huge surprises this week, although where the hell did Summertime Sadness come from? Didn't even know there was gonna be another single this era, and that from the regular edition too and not the Paradise edition! And all the more strange that they've added it after snubbing Young & Beautiful
And Professor Green on the C-list for a third week? That's not like Radio 1 at all, normally he'd be A-listed by now! |

Oh, and Rihanna out already after just 4 weeks! C-B-B-B-out, same as Pour It Up.

'Summertime Sadness' is currently a US single, and it's doing quite well (for a Lana single at least) so I'm not very surprised it's getting a push here. Glad to see Lana back on the playlist though, it's been too long
Great week all round, though I'm shocked to see 'Right Now' out |

Didn't know Lana was releasing "Summertime Sadness" here! Thought it was a US-only release. Glad to see it playlisted!
Happy that P!nk moved up to B-list, Miley C-listed and Will.i.am A-listed! |

Brilliant to see 'Summertime Sadness' getting Radio 1 support. Seems a bit late but then this is the UK (see Icona Pop) so would like to see Lana do well.
On another note, I've seen the video for 'F For You' by Disclosure and find it interesting that Radio 1 haven't playlisted it. It seems like the perfect track for the Radio 1 target audience. Maybe it's just a promo video to help sell the album, or Radio 1 just don't think the song is much cop. |

Strange to see "Summertime sadness" on the playlist. It's already been a single in continental europe last year and was quite a big hit in Germany/Switzerland/Austria. Radio stations here are really loving that song as they still played it in the winter and pushed it again this summer. I can probably say the same about "It's time", as this was a Top 10 Hit and big on the radio at the beginning of this year in my country.

I'd say radio 1 will playlist it in the coming weeks as its been played ALOT on nighttime shows but hasn't hit a release date of the 19th aug or something? |

I swear It's Time was looking like a single earlier, but then they just kind of...gave up? Probably due to Radioactive still doing so well, I think it will have more of a chance of doing well now.
Nice to see Lana pushing that as a single, however random it is. Rudimental's new one is SO MUCH better than Waiting All Night, I really hope that it at least gets top 10. |

Promising adds for Rudimental and Calvin Harris. The playlisting of "Holy Grail" should also give it a better chance of being a longer-lasting hit.
Miley making it 4/4 for Disney girls' lead singles - hopeful that Selena Gomez can debut highly next week. |
