Michael Jackson drops out next with his 2001 hit 'You Rock My World'. It proved to be his final top 10 hit until 'Man In The Mirror' surged to #2 following his passing in 2009. Not really regarded as an essential for him this was and so his earlyish exit here doesn't necessarily come as a big surprise.

Exactly 50 years ago this week there were around 60 out of 75 records better than James' 1973 in my retro charts. Sorry JB, keep on tweeting though, and I'll keep on buying your new singles :)

I like '1973' as well. Even prefer it to 'You're Beautiful' but then others would too only just lol. 'Carry You Home' is even better though, raw captivating ballad from him.
I feel like Miss Independent is coasting... it's what I will be targeting if we could finally get rid of 1973.
Sticking with James Blunt up against the others here.
