Cheryl had quite a drop in sales on Thursday, only selling 21k. She should do about 275-285k for the week now.

So Currently.....The YTD

37 Alexandra - Bad Boys

52 Cheryl Cole - FFTL

:o

Cheryl will make Top 40 at this rate...

I know  By a large margin, the highest selling single of the year so far, and there are still complaints.

Out of curiosity, where do people find these sales from?

Cos Musicweek don't supply sales (apart from a select few in news articles), right?

Looks like Whitney is dropping back a bit in the singles... hope she's done enough to remain top 5 come sunday ;)

Can see Cheryl's album being a massive christmas seller now!

I wonder which will be bigger...Cheryl's Album or AB's

Me thinks Cheryl's will be!

AIUI, through connections in the music industry.

Yeah I think Cheryl too. But both will sell well.

I'm actually very pleased with Alex's album sales, she's nearly outsold Leon Jackson, and with (hopefully) a bit of staying power might surpass Shayne too - I don't think she'll have the power to beat Spirit - but then that's not important. So long as she gets good sales, Simco should be happy and not neglect her like they have others.

Cheryl's album sales will be nowehere near the sales of her single, that's the first thing.

Secondly, I don't think she'll sell as many albums from Monday-Xmas as Alexandra does in the same period, and that's discounting Alexandra's first week sales as well.

Cheryl is a singles act. People expecting huge Cheryl album sales next week are going to be massively disappointed, I think.

Outselling Leon Jackson is hardly an accomplishment, even if she is going to do it in her first week

I think it'll end up close between Shayne and Alex on overall first album sales - which, given the climate for album sales now c/w 2006 when Shayne released, actually means relatively Alex will have performed better. Alex's album is actually full of hits all over the place - I can see her having a long, Gaga/Beyonce type run in the charts.

Alex will never outsell Spirit. No-one that comes from the X Factor ever will.

I disagree - might start low but it'll sell close to Out Of Control by christmas! Time will tell ;-)

I think i read somewhere that Cheryl has actually topped all the girls aloud first week single sales INCLUDING Sound Of The Underground.....??!!

Is that true?

I think John & Edward will :kink:

Jokes!

Well i think this years winner might because look how ell songs that have featured onthis years show have done so theres obviuosly a bigger fanbase than ever before

SOTU - sold 213,000 in it's first week so yes

it's hard to predict how well Cheryl's album will do. I think it will be successful, maybe 500K.

You're right time will tell. And I'll be right :P ;)

I honestly don't see how that's the case - remember last year, Amy managed to get a song into the iTunes top 10 (Faith Hill's track There You'll Be) from an audition performance.

No-one from XF will outsell Spirit in the UK. Period. I can't even see huge, established acts will get nowehere near 3 million in the current sales climate.

How can you say that cheryl is only singles act when she has never released a solo album before? <_<

I think her album will do very well at first and all the way into xmas because 3 words is a brilliant track and has will.i.am on it too. Another recipe for success.

Nice sales for Cheryl, but it seems to have trailed off a bit, reckon another 14k for today and 18k+ for Saturday, probably around 260-270k total

Alexandra should pass the 100k barrier for a #2 single, quite easily

All in all if you add both sales for the top 2 singles that's quite an improvement, I love to see the physical percentage share of Cheryl's track though, I be surprised if its around 210k in downloads in the end and the reminder in physical sales.

Question for Ryan... do you have just the physical sales for Cheryl's track, I love to see the physical/download split.

Alex's album will probably end up anywhere between 115k-120k in total.
