I wouldn't say Russian Roulette alienates her fanbase! I loved GGGB, one of my favourite albums ever. I also LOVE Russian Roulette and Rated R is one of my favourite albums of 2009.

I think the single and album are good but the song does alienate her non obsessive fan base. Hence the reason it has flopped in the US by her standards.

Also I'm pretty sure the majority of people don't even know she has an album out. Had she released an uptempo first single it would have been all over clubs and hard to avoid.

Rihanna number 11 in BOTH charts?! :drama: That's well frustrating! LOL.

Also I think this is proof that no one is exactly interested nor is bothered about Mariah anymopre. Now that Leona, Alexandra etc... are here.

Does anyone know what Spirit's first day sales were?
I agree that she should of released an uptempo song first, Hard or Rude Boy. But I think Russian Roulette is her most interesting and personal song yet. Anyway, her album still has time to rise to top 5!

A little above 130K.

Or the fact the album has been available everywhere else since September. I think the fact she has gone top 15 is a shock.

The UK were never that bothered about her anyway.

RiRi will overtake SuBo for number 10 spot by tomorrow (or sooner) :)

3 hasn't done too badly, I was expecting quite a big fall week on week.
Does anyone know what Spirit's first day sales were?

Pretty much the same :-(

Looking at sales patterns over the week for the last 2 or 3 number one albums and using that to predict The Boils sales by end of week it looks likely to be just over 400k (which is what HMV peeps were saying). it really depends on the Christmas shoppers and this Saturdays sales.

Nah it can't cause Rihanna's there ;)

Oh yeah, I forget that.

10 + 3

Thank you :cheer:

Good to see her still high. :D

Even with a high profiled X-Factor slot where all the other guests have managed to get Top 10 albums on the back of that performance?

Im so disappointed with enya's position i was sure it would do much better than top 40, very interesting chart overall and with all the huge competition JLS are still number 2, the albums success has totally surprised me i knew it would do well but i didnt think nothing like this.

I hope janet jackson can hold top 30 at the lowest or hopefully go top 20.

Could i ask for Bon Jovi and Snow Patrol and any take that positiions please???

My predictions this wekk will be so bad :drama:

I like it how people are saying Rihanna's album is a flop, the top 10 album sales must be pretty high, especially at this time of the year. She's only just missed out on a top 10 album. Its not life threatening yet.
Just like GA's Chemistry, peaked at #11 and sold a bucketload still. Sales > Positions

nevermind Rhianna, i knew she had an album out but i didn't know Enya did and i watch a lot of daytime tv! she didn't have a hope in hell really, not that i'd have bought it either.

also i agree that Rihanna's new stuff is alienating her pop fans, the people who are giving it time to listen to it are liking it but the generic little pop bitch who dances around to Dont Stop The Music is not interested in Russian Roulette.
