Boring this week. And still no Kaskade vs Deadmau5 :(

so nearly every DJ had Private as a record of the week, but it never made the playlist

Did radio 1 playlist Hallelujah by Alex last year?

I'm convinced male winners of X factor get a harder time being accepted.

Yay for Owl City, but sad for Paramore

Doesn't The X Factor winner get added to the playlist?

YAY for Marina, Hot Chip and Editors. :D

But why the hell are they playlisting the AWFUL new Hadouken! single when they flopped badly last time with better material...?

Edited December 16, 200916 yr by Cremey

Cremey, its pretty obvious. Most likely its a hot record in Zane Low's opinion, which means automatic playlisting.

i looked on the website on sunday and they had edited last weeks playlist and put the xfactor in the clist?!

good to see editors, hot chip and marina in the list - pity they have taken robbie out so soon!!

is this the years final playlist?

No info yet on the website, but it might be the last one.

any old playlists?

Heh, I stopped posting them due to lack of interest. Let me check and see what I got.

I thought Mini Viva would have been removed - is the playlist frozen now or do we get one next week? - if not, then they are one lucky duo! I guess the song does have potential to climb a lot higher though after all of the novelty stuff has disappeared

Well assuming it IS Zane Lowe's record of the week or w/e, they playlist Hadouken!, but not Grizzly Bear? (which had the equivalent) :/

'Overprotected' in the retro playlist  One of my fave Britney singles

Boring week this week. Great for Girls Can't Catch though! :D

Two of my alltime favourites are first in retro a-list :) And there were much more tracks in the list :o

Owl City  Good addition for Hot Chip too.

Dannii Minogue on the a-list! those were the days :D

Will I

P.O.D.'s Alive is one of the worst songs of the noughties for me :puke:

Ooh, good week this week ^_^

Great to see Radio 1 are giving some proper backing to Plan B (probably aided by his success with Chase & Status on End Credits), although I get the feeling that since Stay Too Long is pretty much a carbon copy of Jamie T's Chaka Demus, it'll get almost zero actual airplay and will end up missing the top 20... hopefully it'll be MASSIVE though.

Great that VW are A-List as well (were they A last week?), but it hasn't been added to iTunes this week for some reason - I was in panic thinking it had gone and done an epic flop, has it been pushed back or something?

Biffy should hopefully get their fourth (more? and I'm guessing they A-listed Mountains) A-List in a row soon.

If Example gets decent airplay, he could have a fair shot at the top 5 with Won't Go Quietly - it's absolutely BRILLIANT in any case. Hopefully Delphic will go A-List soon as well... I'm backing Doubt for a massive top 10 success on release ;o

Hadouken!'s new single is amazing as well - I never liked them before, but TTLO is just  Sounds very much like a The Prodigy song though, which is probably why I like it LOL. Speaking of The Prodigy, they are out this week as I expected :(

I hope Simian Mobile Disco can somehow beat the peak of AOH - CI is not as good as Audacity Of Huge but is still good enough to deserve at least the top 60 IMO. Same with Sub Focus - CTBR pails in comparison to RI, but given that he has shown he can get a hit, CTBR deserves at least top 35... I somehow doubt it'll make much impression at all though :(

The Temper Trap had better not flop with Fader - they're pretty lucky SD was a big hit, mostly due to being used in countless montages and TV adverts, and its success have earnt them a place on the B-List this week which would otherwise be impossible for them.

The new Esmée Denters song is awful.

Good to see One Life Stand on the playlist, and so early as well! Early signs of a big hit? Hopefully it'll outpeak RFTF.

Also great to see R1 have seen their mistake in not playlisting Mowgli's Road, and are now playlisting (the superior) Hollywood.

Miike Snow, once more, fits in with what I said about SMD and SF - Silvia is nowhere near as good as Black & Blue and is only just better than Animal, but I really hope it outpeaks them anyway.

And finally, now Owl City is on the R1 playlist, I'm 99% certain he has a #1 GUARANTEED unless he is really stupid and releases it on the same week as Justin Bieber, in which case he will cruelly miss out. (One Time is actually physically puke inducing). Yeasayer song is okay too :P

Whew, that was a mouthful...

P.O.D.'s Alive is one of the worst songs of the noughties for me :puke:

Oddly enough I liked it at the time, same with Papa Roach, which is pretty remarkable considering I hate the genre generally. Oh I also liked A - Nothing at the time hah, dont think i'd give it any chance these days.
