Lady GaGa is a dance-pop singer from New York City. Born Stefani Germanotta in Yonkers in 1986, she attended the Tisch School of the Arts at NYU while performing at open-mic nights around the city. An early collaboration with rapper/producer Akon led to her signing with Interscope Records, which released her debut album THE FAME in October 2008. She scored a number one hit and a Grammy nomination with her ode to lost, drunken nights, "Just Dance." The song went on to top the charts in several other countries, helping GaGa to develop an international following. The vocalist made headlines at the 2009 Brit Awards when she, along with Brandon Flowers of the Killers, performed with the Pet Shop Boys on a medley of the synth-pop duo's hits, including the classic "West End Girls." - HMV

TELEPHONE

HAS TO BE #1 AT SOME POINT!

Edited by Chriss_S

Great for 'Telephone' Really hope the video comes out soon as it sounds EPIC!
Telephone is actually a re-entry to the top 40 :heehee:

Gaga is more of a performer and artist than a songwriter... Can't say she has impressed me except with Poker Face and Bad Romance but both are brilliant! (Because they're basically the same song :P)

Edit: Also Paparazzi

Which is more than most pop artists can do so I think she has impressed me.. LOL

Scottish kitsch-dance producer, Calvin Harris, burst on to the UK music scene with his tongue-in-cheek single, "Acceptable In The 80s", which reached number 10 in the UK singles chart. A blend of retro synth sounds, and knowing lyrics it set the template for Harris' debut full length, I CREATED DISCO, released in June 2007. The album was preceded by Harris' second single, "The Girls", which upping the ante with it's ironic claims of sexual attractiveness--set to a synth sample from the Human League--the single shot top number 3 in the single charts. - HMV

another  song :cheer:
Calvin made the top 40 then? Bit of a surprise. Anyone else hear the Windows XP sounds in the background? Sounds like his computer went haywire producing the song.
