Precocious R&B vocalist/pianist Alicia Keys was hand-picked by Clive Davis as one of the flagship artists for his post-Arista label, J Records. No doubt he was as impressed by her multitude of skills (Keys took a large role in the writing, arranging, and production of her debut album) as by her music, which mates contemporary hip-hop accoutrements to an old-school soul sensibility a la Jill Scott or D'Angelo. Only 20 years old at the time of the album's release, Keys already seemed poised for a major career built upon her soulful voice and classically trained piano chops. While hip-hop played a much bigger role on her second effort, 2003's THE DIARY OF ALICIA KEYS, it was a smash nonetheless, and subsequent recordings have further pushed the boundaries of R&B - HMV

The Los Angeles-based hip-hop group Black Eyed Peas has made a name for itself by taking an eclectic and organic approach to rap, R&B, and funk. Led by vocalist/multi-instrumentalist Will.I.Am., the band also includes two other MCs, Apl.de.Ap. and Taboo, along with vocalist Fergie, and a live backing band. Building a steady buzz with its first two releases, Black Eyed Peas garnered mainstream attention with the 2003 album, ELEPHUNK, which launched Fergie's solo career and helped make Will.I.Am one of the most in-demand producers in hip-hop, pop, and R&B for several years to come. - HMV

Has the Black Eyed Peas ever been nominated for a Brit?

I think so. International group I think, twice. I'm not sure, they could've gotten more.

Taking Chances, I'll Stand By You and Take A Bow are wayyy better than Somebody To Love.

Stay Too Long doesn;t look as if it's going to live up to it's title. :(

I'm not even joking. Radio 1 play this Plan B song at least 3 times a day during in the week and every chart show. I am positively sick of it now.

It is starting to stay too long isn't it?

Could stay in the top 100 for a long time. You never know. It's not going down itunes that fast. And look at End Credits, that's still in the top 100.
