May 9, 201016 yr Ah, I love Try Sleeping... If this song doesn't reach top ten. There's no justice. Edited May 9, 201016 yr by TactiX
May 9, 201016 yr Whenever Sophie gets round to releasing a Best Of, I'll be first in the queue! I'm not a massive fan of her Freemasons produced songs but she has had some incredible singles, particularly the old disco influenced ones, like the singles from Read My Lips  Me too, Read My Lips is actually still one of my fave albums ever
May 9, 201016 yr Author 23 (from 31) Alicia Keys - Try Sleeping With A Broken Heart [D] http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/B285977PMI.JPG Chart Run: 71-xx(11 wks)-63-31-23 [4 wks] Format: download only track Precocious R&B vocalist/pianist Alicia Keys was hand-picked by Clive Davis as one of the flagship artists for his post-Arista label, J Records. No doubt he was as impressed by her multitude of skills (Keys took a large role in the writing, arranging, and production of her debut album) as by her music, which mates contemporary hip-hop accoutrements to an old-school soul sensibility a la Jill Scott or D'Angelo. Only 20 years old at the time of the album's release, Keys already seemed poised for a major career built upon her soulful voice and classically trained piano chops. While hip-hop played a much bigger role on her second effort, 2003's THE DIARY OF ALICIA KEYS, it was a smash nonetheless, and subsequent recordings have further pushed the boundaries of R&B - HMV Video here: Chart history (Year peak title): 2001 03 Fallin' 2002 37 Brotha Part II (Angie Stone Featuring Alicia Keys And Eve) 2002 18 A Woman's Worth 2002 26 How Come You Don't Call Me 2002 06 Gangsta Lovin' (Eve Featuring Alicia Keys) 2002 24 Girlfriend 2003 19 You Don't Know My Name 2004 18 If I Ain't Got You 2006 62 Ghetto Story (Cham Featuring Alicia Keys) 2007 06 No One 2008 53 Like You'll Never See Me Again 2008 09 Another Way To Die (Alicia Keys And Jack White) 2009 02 Empire State Of Mind (Jay-Z feat. May 9, 201016 yr Author 22 (from 36) Train - Hey, Soul Sister [P] http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/88697692092.JPG Chart Run: 64-51-36-22 [4 wks] Release date: 03-05-2010 Format: CDS Number of Discs: 1 Catalogue Number: 88697692092 Label: columbia The origins of Train's widescreen, Americana-tinged rock lay in the coffee-house acoustic duo that singer/songwriter Pat Monahan inaugurated with guitarist Rob Hotchkiss after the two left the L.A. band the Apostles. Eventually they expanded to a full band and released their first album themselves before it was picked up for wider distribution. Though initially a sleeper, it slowly produced a couple of hits, and the 2001 follow-up DROPS OF JUPITER broke Train through to full-fledged star status with its grandiloquent title track. - HMV Video here: tglSCIpaXPs track listing 1. May 9, 201016 yr I remember watching a TMF countdown of the best one-hit wonders, and Train were in the top 10 with Drops of Jupiter. Looks like they won't be able to use them again.
