It's good to see that unlike last year, iTunes positions aren't fixed based upon inclusion to the Radio 1 Playlist. It's a pity that those who are benefitting from that are bands that have been around for a few years. When was the last time a new band went top 40 without Radio 1 support?

God, 'Once' is falling really badly. Could be out of the top 40 tomorrow. :o

she's right about ready to move on to 'the boy who murdered love', and that'll do better methinks.

Like others, I'm really shocked by Muse. I haven't heard the song yet, but I hope I like it.

And I really like Alejandro. I do feel that Lady Gaga is overrated, and I find that her 4 biggest hits all sound the same, but I do like Alejando, especially seeing as I like Europop. I think this song will be Lady Gaga's biggest hit that's not a Just Dance clone.

Also, someone was saying about rock hits in the charts. We've had 4 number-ones which are in rock sub-genres (In My Head, Once, This Ain't a Love Song and Everybody Hurts). Pop rock is doing quite well this year, in all fairness, even if other branches of rock aren't.

Poor Diana.

It's freefalling now. :(

Still at least it got to No.1 at the start *remembers the good times*

You have to hand it to B.O.B he is killing the competition, hopefully he will have a long run at the top.Alex needs to pass Plan B tonight, she has a huge mountain to climb to hold onto Top 5.Agnes at least Top 100, shame Christina wont go Top 10.

Wow, Muse now #6  I wonder if this can go as high as #2 :o

Cmon Plan B, overtake that Leeds song before Alex kicks you out :drama:

Come on alex almost there also i just heard sean kingston and justin biebers new song its actually really good

I was surprised by it too. Catchy ^_^.

The UK release seems premature though as I haven't heard it much on radio.

Not doing too badly at the moment.

Yay it's top 10 (again)! :w00t:

I'd love it to stay top 3 but top 5 is great enough. :D

Btw, i'd like to add that I don't think Radio 1 is extremely effective anymore. Lemar, Gabriella, Miley, Selena, Christina, Alexandra and Usher (at first) all prove it.

EDIT: Just to ask, why don't record companies just make upcoming singles from already released albums "album only" to ensure all the sales are pushed into one week - therefore getting a higher peak position?

I've thought/mentioned that before.

Some believe if people can't get it when they want it, they'll look at other means... it's true for some, but you could say that about any unreleased song :).
