This will join a list of many Irish #1 singles that couldn't go top 10 in the UK, much like the beloved "Fly On The Wings Of Love" by XTM.

That did go top 10 here- It reached 8 as I recall

On the one hand, it's the closest to rock you'll get in the top 20 this week. On the other hand, it's a Disney-fied version of the sound. Any musos in the room who can tell me if I'm allowed to like this?

As long as you get a certificate signed by your GP, your MP and a senior police officer.

yes, yo-yoed around the top 10 for ages!

Yay! Went to see Pendulum last week and got to meet the band. They're a lot better live than on record, although the crowd were completely mental. Us Belfasters never need an excuse to have a riot.

So you live in Northern Ireland, wouldn't you still be British by that aspect?

Generally billed as a drum & bass group, the Australian-bred/U.K.-based band Pendulum fuses electronica with an energetic rock aesthetic, resulting in a propulsive techno-fuelled sound. While the ensemble, masterminded by frontman Rob Swire, garnered attention for its dynamic 2005 debut, HOLD YOUR COLOUR, Pendulum truly took off in earnest with its second album, IN SILICO, which introduced the act to American audiences and showcased its heavier, rock-oriented direction, particularly on the fierce single "Granite." - HMV

Album Discussion Here

Pendulum, Buble, Katie and Glee are all bound to fall next week. I suspect B.O.B will be #1 next week?

I don't think this forum is the best place to bring up a nationalism/unionism debate

Although I do have an Irish passport, so technically I'm Irish in the eyes of the world.

Sorry, it's just that Northern Ireland always gets me - the Irish chart counts sales from there into the sales charts, but technically it's still part of Great Britain so I just wanted to make sure.
