5 years ago, the video for You and I was released, featuring Gaga's male alter ego Jo Calderone and also Gaga as a mermaid! Of course, this video also features Taylor Kinney. I've never really given this video the love it deserves before, intriguing, dark storyline and incredible aesthetics!

 

For me this song has always been a huge standout, the song builds beautifully and passionately, especially towards the end it is so powerful.

Pretty great video, terrible song though. Always felt like one of her "People will respect me more if I do something like this!" efforts and it feels really laboured. It's also just quite dull.
Once awful, always awful. I HATE her vocal on it so much, the song itself could be a bland filler type affair if it didn't sound like she was experiencing giving birth to a 20 ton horned GARGOYLE for almost the duration of the song.
I must be the only one who actually loves the song and video ...although I do agree it didn't need to be a single... great track though! :kink:

LOVE this song. I always love it when an artist can throw out a curveball like this, it suits her voice perfectly imo and this is always the sort of rousing ballad type affair I love <3 You just wouldn't necessarily expect something like this from a Gaga song, let alone a single. I'm not sure it ever should have been a single tbf but I do love it regardless as a song in its own right!

You've really got me back into this after Plug the other night, Lotti! A pretty great song, not the Gaga single we want but I think it'd more respected if it wasn't a single. It's very anthemic in a way she's never done before and when I hear it, I'm surprised by how much I enjoy it. Prefer it to 'Marry The Night' for sure and probably just 'Born This Way' in terms of singles from the album.

It was one of my standouts when the album was released but I don't appreciate it as much anymore really (or maybe I've come to appreciate some other tracks more). I'd put it around 8th in a rank of the album. Still like how different it is for her though.

Same as Jahq ~ a standout when the album was leaking and I was vying for it to be a single but it tired on me quite quickly (especially as it was around LONG before the album came). It means a lot to her though so I am ok with it being a single. The video isn't brilliant mainly because a fair bit of the scenes are from the original TEOG video so it's a bit mismatch.
