September 28, 201014 yr Nooo. 'Greatest Day' is one of my favourite TT singles. 'Patience', 'Shine' and 'Up All Night' are vile and I will never get the hype for those three songs. I used to think the same about 'Rule The World' but i've slightly warmed to that. Give me 'Greatest Day', 'I'd Wait For Life' and 'The Garden' over them any day  Oh Jonjo you disappoint me! The Garden and I'd Wait For Life are total pukefests! Kath
September 28, 201014 yr This is what Epic Records just tweeted someone At the moment it looks like @jlsofficial and Take That are being released the same day! Take That are incredible so to be mentioned in the same breath as them is an honour!
September 28, 201014 yr Take That. Just. Silly though. Album chart has been really slow, they could both have the #1 spot yet risk losing it by competing same week as eachother.
September 28, 201014 yr Author I really don't think they care about positions tbh Jamie :P SALES >>>>>> POSITIONS. Had they released it now, yeah they'd easily get number 1 albums, but only 100k or so sales (yeah it's not bad, but will still be considered "flops" compared to past releases.)

Three of my favourite ever songs
September 28, 201014 yr Yeah by jls doing that they JUST Beat Robbie Williams.. Just! Exactly. The gap was 1.5k if I recall. And that was a "wounded" Robbie - hardly the peak Robbie of 2000-2003 - who was coming off the lowest-selling album of his career. So I fail to see how they can beat a hyped up to the high heavens Take That reunion. It would be a massive upset. Both will definitely clear 200k easily though... although if JLS release another Club Is Alive-type disaster that gets little support outside of their fanbase, then they might disappoint in terms of sales.

Had they released it now, yeah they'd easily get number 1 albums, but only 100k or so sales (yeah it's not bad, but will still be considered "flops" compared to past releases.)yeah that's true, though I think Louis said he wants to build them an impressive chart history like Westlife. ;p I wouldn't be surprised if JLS got #1 first week and Take That swapped with them in 2nd.
September 29, 201014 yr TT would win easily, but I can't register in the 2nd half of the poll, because I believe only TT would reach the minimum criteria.
September 29, 201014 yr According to Amazon, and other sites too, JLS release 22nd Nov, and TT the week after, 29th, same day as Duffy. So no battle. Edited September 29, 201014 yr by Common Sense

Listen to Louis and his karaoke cute boys. Impressive is his taste in music and comments on tghe XF panel - hardly :puke:
September 29, 201014 yr Shine is like going shopping to Morrisons <_< I try not to associate it with that. I still remember the first time I heard it. I had just bought the album and was listening to it in the common room at uni. It jumped out at me as being hugely different to the rest of the album and I fell in love with it instantly  If ever the Morrisons adverts come on, I switch them off instantly.
September 29, 201014 yr :o :o :o 1) People in here BELIEVE JLS's 2nd album will outsell the one they did right after XF? (+ the fact that it also had multiple covers anyway) .How often does this really happen?. 2) And how could the most hyped album of the year sell less than what Robbie or TT did in the near past? Even if we consider some of the fanbase feels insulted they will have two huge hits (Shame & The Flood) + all TV Radio and Xmas support available in the UK. 3)Take this into account too: JLS outsold Robbie's first week by a negligible percentage which was ONLY because of the multiple cover story. (when Robbie's XF appearance was considered semi-fail and Bodies was not warmly accepted all around UK) So... if JLS had to beat TT they should probably sell 280K and TT 250K? IMO the case will be more like JLS 150-200K and TT 300-?00 K. And that's the 1st week only, I suppose TT will sell more than a million in 2010 only. I don't really understand why anything different than that could be expected so somebody with a different view please explain to me too! Anyway smart move from JLS management. I believe they knew (it turned out different though) they would lose to Robbie last year but they were sure the chart battle would activate fans to buy more that's what they are doing this time too. They do not stand a chance here but still xtra sales are welcome.
September 29, 201014 yr If JLS beat Robbie 'only' because of the multiple covers (which BTW they're doing again for album 2) then how come Robbie's album only ever got ahead of JLS' briefly due to the BRITs?
September 29, 201014 yr If JLS beat Robbie 'only' because of the multiple covers (which BTW they're doing again for album 2) then how come Robbie's album only ever got ahead of JLS' briefly due to the BRITs? No this is wrong. I insist he would have outsold them on the first week because he a huge star with hugely frontloaded sales and a lot of preorders. They would have overtaken next week but this is not the question here. A lot has been said on this so let me put this on a different perspective: My argument on this is common sence. Let's just make a few calculations: Some JLS fans were eager to buy on the first week more than one copy to 'win the chart battle' everybody here knows that. So lets suppose that 1/10 of them bought 3 coppies instead of one (this is a conservative estimation because we all have seen girls with 5 covers alltogether) and the rest 9/10 bought only one copy. This would grant them +20% first week sales!!! Do you see what I mean now? We know the difference was like 1% of sales! This difference could have been even covered by 1% (1/100) of the JLS fanbase buying a second copy! Isn't it clear?
September 29, 201014 yr I think Take That will win only because Robbie's back in it and there will be loads of coverage and everyone will be excited

September 29, 201014 yr I think Take That will win only because Robbie's back in it and there will be loads of coverage and everyone will be excited I doubt it. No fan of Rob solo is going to be interested in the album ... they wouldn't touch anything by Take That with a barge-pole. Sure ... there'll be Rob fans who will buy it ... but they'll be the same Rob fans who were fans of Take That ... and have bought Take That's albums both first time round and this era. If anything ... there are a few Take That fans (like myself) who won't buy it because I don't like Robbie Williams and I detest his 'pseudo American' singing voice. Having said that ... I'd forgotten how absolutely awful they've been doing without him ... two number 1 albums, sell-out tours, The Circus DVD number 1 for 11 weeks and still in the top 10 44 weeks after its release. Yeah ... they'd been doing tragically badly without old Mr Bojangles. Kath Edit ... I may possibly download the tracks that don't have him on lead. Even today when listening to Never Forget (one of my fave songs) I have to skip when his voice chips in at the end. Edited September 29, 201014 yr by Kathyp
September 29, 201014 yr Take That have talent. JLS are a piece of $h!t. TAKE THAT WILL WIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
September 29, 201014 yr Well I wouldn't put it past JLS to pull a fast one like last year but then again they only just managed to beat Robbie last year despite it being rammed down everyone's throats that they had released their album that week and having multiple copies and with an X Factor appearance the Sunday before that would have given them a boost. I think if TT's The Flood is a good strong single they will hopefully sell by the bucketload and maybe have The Circus style first week sales. But if its quite weak then it could go down to the wire like last year, then again i don't know lol I wasn't convinced Robbie would win last year either.
