Ellie Goulding & Coldplay #s 1 & 2. Never thought I'd see that in December while X Factor was on. Very pleased :) The Christmas battle may be more interesting than I thought.

I have to agree, that Coldplay is so shocking dull - even by their standards (they do have good songs, but boy, do they have some awfully dull songs?!)

Do you mean the Christmas chart battle? That won't be interesting at all. X Factor will never get Christmas #1 this year. The question is just which facebook group will get into the top 10 on iTunes first.

 

About Coldplay being boring, I'm sort of in the middle on this. I don't think they're that boring, but at the same time, I don't find their music overly interesting. A lot of their songs sound very similar to me, particularly Speed of Sound and Clocks. When Speed of Sound started getting played on the radio, it took me a few weeks to realize it wasn't Clocks. Similar thing happened with Poker Face. It took me weeks to realize it was actually a different song to Just Dance, although this was more understandable, as they weren't released years apart.

Coldplay Christmas number 1 would be amazing- but in reality it will be lucky to get one week there :(

 

regarding Coldplay, I understand how some people would find them 'boring' or 'depressing' but to me their music is wonderful and inspiring and that makes them my favourite band bar none

Y in the X factor they didn't bring Coldplay to perform this Perfect Christmas song?! It could have been number 1... :( I hate the BEP song!!!!!!

The coldplay song would be great if they had a different lead singer Chris Martin's voice is :puke2: :puke2: :puke2: so whiney ruins all there songs and he is a grade-A Knob.

If only coldplay were performing on x factor this week they would probably go number 1, hopefully they can reach number 1 without x factor.

That said, Turn My Swag On wouldn't be where it is without the X Factor either, so I don't know. I'd prefer it top 10 than the XFF song though.

I'm glad people are attempring original christmas songs, Mariah and Coldplay whilst both being artists I thoroughly dislike have given it a fair crack and came up with worthy attempts. ^_^

 

However, 'Christmas Tree' by Lady GaGa should go down as the modern day christmas anthem. :wub: It encompases all the fun, cheese, tackiness and campness of christmas whilst being utter filth.

Wow! First time I heard that! :o I really like it. It's so much better than Poker Face, it's not even funny! I wish she could do more songs like that, because her singles from The Fame Monster are getting a bit repetitive. :(
