I have a theory that when the Doctor is shot time will somehow freeze get stuck in some sort of loop.. all the teaser pictures are pointing to something like that anyway.

BBC have decided to axe Doctor Who Confidential.

I've watched it since Series 4 but I can't say I'll really miss it. I hope, however, that they keep making cut down episodes for the DVD releases.

Unlikely BBC do them and pay up for them so it'll be completely gone :(

I thought it was sensational. Everything I wanted and more. They answered every question I wanted answered and all were done so in a believable fashion too. Most importantly it was FUN, the reveal at the end put a massive grin on my face.
For once, the finale made logical sense! The thing is I didn't realise it was the last episode and so I was expecting 'more' I still don't quite get the role of The Silence and Madame Karvarion, but it was good end to the series. :D
wow, that was a lot to take in! :drama: BUT it was fantastic, I certainly didn't see it coming (I saw something happening with the time but no idea how he'd survive) and a good round off to a pretty good series :D

That was fantastic! Resolved everything quite nicely, and left the direction for the next series wonderfully open. Somehow, Moffat wrapped it all up very convincingly. Well done.

Though, I'm still a little disappointed of the lack of more lesbian Silurian/maid antics . :kink: I mean, with the blue guy's head there... But that's just wishful thinking, it has nothing to do with how I enjoyed the episode.

Hopefully the Silence are defeated for good now. They made a good one series villain, I would feel extremely tired if they appeared again at any point in the near future at least.

Minor quibbles aside, it's a satisfying end to the series.

Unfortunately no one cares about him because he hasn't appeared in the new series. -_-

At least he got a name-check in the series finale :) I thought that was a rather lovely touch.

I didn't think it was that good, at least it resolved everything, I just find this series has been rather disappointing for me, with some dud stories, probably because they were terribly written.

Loved the tribute to the Brigadier in the episode though.

I think the writing on this series has been the best of any of the 6 series' so far. It's taken a real step up from the pedestrian soap opera style writing during RTD's running of the show.
I have championed this series and Moffats tenure but this was awful. Such a terrible get out, the last three minutes, my god, horrific. I'm so disappointed right now.

The question, Doctor Who? and Trenzalore are so going to roll into the 50th anniversary, seeing as series 7 is due next autumn, and the 50th is the year after!

What does hurt my head is the Doctor's death is a fixed point, yet the real Doctor didn't die, so hmm yeah!

You could be right there. Back in the old days they marked some anniversaries by having stories with several doctors. Maybe they'll do something similar for the 50th anniversary although I'm not sure Christopher Ecclestone will want to do it.

It was alright. The ending was very predictable, the eye patches served pretty much the purpose that I suspected they may and I'd assumed that the Doctor on the beach would either be a flesh Doctor or the robot thing that it ended up being (I can never remember it's real name!) so all in all it was a 6/10 type of episode.
What I find really annoying about this is there is still so much unresolved! I was really hoping Moff would leave all his threads there and start fresh next series but ALAS.

When the doctor whispered in River Song's ear:

Doctor: Come closer...

River Song: Yes....

Doctor: *moves lips to river's ear*

River Song: *anticipation*

Doctor: ......I am Time itself.

Calling it.

That's not what he said...

I watched bits of this last night, but was babysitting so missed a big chunk - after catching up on it though, I have to say I LOVED it! It all made so much sense after all, and was definitely worth it! Sure, it may be a bit annoying that this arch will probably continue into the next series, but I'm not that bothered, just as long as we get quality episodes like that again; it's probably my favourite from this series, and one of my favourite Matt Smith stories to-date! :D

The Christmas episode is going to be set in the past again; hopefully it's not as terminally awful as 'The Next Doctor' was, but Steven's a much better writer than Russell was anyway, so it's unlikely to happen again.
