January 4, 201115 yr Singles chart is so boring. I'd love to have big debuts by Nero and White Lies in Top 10. This :( I would rather Nero, Martin Solveig or White Lies were number 1, its 2011 now, I want a 2011 song at the top, not a 2010 one so dont want Matt or Rihanna there :( next week though, we should at least see a bit of movement with Bruno Mars' single out :D
January 4, 201115 yr I want Martin Solveig to do well, I've been wanting Dragonette to catch a break for years and they've just been so unlucky. :(
January 4, 201115 yr As opposed to Matt staying at number one- which would be even more predictable? That would be predictable, but I never said I'd prefer Matt to be at no.1.
January 4, 201115 yr I would like 'What's My Name?' to be #1 as it's the best thing Rihanna's released since 'Disturbia', and if the disappointing 'Loud' can make #1, this deserves it too. BUT what with it being Matt's fourth week of release, it would be nice to have a #1 lasting four weeks at the top, no matter how $h!t it is.
January 4, 201115 yr I want Martin Solveig to do well, I've been wanting Dragonette to catch a break for years and they've just been so unlucky. :( Me too. I was hoping this would go top 10 and then we'd get the Fixin' To Thrill album with I Get Around and all their collabs as bonus tracks :snif:

January 4, 201115 yr Me too. I was hoping this would go top 10 and then we'd get the Fixin' To Thrill album with I Get Around and all their collabs as bonus tracks :snif: I hoped they'd catch a break they might climb! Fixin' to thrill was one of my fav albums of :cheer: 2009
January 4, 201115 yr Loud isn't dissapointing, it is full of potential singles. speaking of dissapointing number 1's, looks like Cheryl is flopping with the flood, so her career looks entirely dependant on x factor How is Cheryl getting top 10 hits in other countries then? She's not on the X Factor in those countries. She's not the "nation's sweetheart" in those countries. Yeah, we get it, Cheryl is overrated. So is Lady Gaga. What else is new?
January 4, 201115 yr Is there any reason why this thread is always called Sunday Chart Predictions? Why not just call it Midweeks? Not that it matters, but I don't get how it's somehow less naughty if you pretend they are merely "predictions"
January 4, 201115 yr Loud isn't dissapointing, it is full of potential singles. speaking of dissapointing number 1's, looks like Cheryl is flopping with the flood, so her career looks entirely dependant on x factor No, it depends if she releases good singles or not. 'The flood' is nice but not really the kind of material for single. Oh and 'Parachute' was released in March, months away from the X Factor and sold 400k. Plus her first album spent over a whole year in the top40.
January 4, 201115 yr Rihanna most likely to get no1 single. I'm fairly certain that "the flood" will be Cheryl Cole's first single to miss top10.

Yeah, we get it, Cheryl is overrated. So is Lady Gaga. What else is new? You meant WAS, right? Promise this has not charted anywhere outside the UK and Ireland despite being released throughout Europe. Neither has the 2nd album. The 1st album did nothing overseas... a few weeks on chart with very low peaks in those countries it charted. Not a single Gold certification in any of them. Except for a few countries, where she charted with 2 songs, almost everywhere she was a one hit wonder. And because of the song, not because of her. So please, don't pretend she is a Superstar overseas, cause she is not. Anyway... there's no excuse, The Flood is The Flop. Even if is not the right single choice, the low airplay... whatever. She is suppoused to be BIG in the UK... Where's her fan base? This week sales would be low, and she will struggle to be Top 20.

I provided evidence against that statement. Some people think the public are brainwashed by a man on the TV to buy all of Cheryl's songs, and I don't really like songs such a Parachute and Fight For This Love, but I think it's ridiculous that people actually believe people only bought those songs because they were "told to". They had extremely good advertising (particularly Fight For This Love), but nobody was forced to buy them. You think Cheryl is overrated, and that people will buy anything she releases, but The Flood not selling very well proves that the public won't buy absolutely anything Cheryl releases, and that they only bought songs such as Promise This, Parachute, etc. for the same reason that they buy any other song; because they like them. Cheryl hasn't got as massive a fan base as you think. She's actually one of the most hated artists in chart music today. I actually struggle to think of anybody in the charts who's more hated than Cheryl. Willow, perhaps? Maybe JLS? I would say Justin Bieber, but he's not in the charts at the moment. For the record, I don't like The Flood, and the only Cheryl Cole songs I own are Heartbreaker, 3 Words and a remix of Promise This from a compilation album. But I think the hatred of Cheryl is quite over the top to be honest. So what if the media say she's "Nation's sweetheart"? Ignore the media. Look at the music itself. It's not that bad.
January 5, 201115 yr Loud isn't dissapointing, it is full of potential singles. speaking of dissapointing number 1's, looks like Cheryl is flopping with the flood, so her career looks entirely dependant on x factor Not necessary. He's allowed his opinion on an artists album without you belittling his favourite artist for no valid reason.
January 5, 201115 yr Not necessary. He's allowed his opinion on an artists album without you belittling his favourite artist for no valid reason. so he is allowed his opinion on loud, but i cant have mine on 'messy little raindrops' and 'the flood', great logic there
January 5, 201115 yr so he is allowed his opinion on loud, but i cant have mine on 'messy little raindrops' and 'the flood', great logic there  No one said you can't have your opinion. Just a bit childish to have a dig at Cheryl just because he said he found Loud disappointing and he has Cheryl in his sig... Time and a place is all I'm thinking MrLovett meant and I agree.
January 5, 201115 yr :cheer: Rihanna at :no1: :w00t: I  the song and yay for it finally getting its deserved position, where it should of been last week. A big WTF at the album number one! Rihanna needs to sell big this week so that she can get the double. Plan B's had his day at number one, let Rihanna have hers
