February 13, 201115 yr What's the difference between this and Official Chart Show? Radio 1 is counting down the OFFICIAL singles chart on sales alone. Big Top 40 only counts down iTunes.

February 13, 201115 yr What's the difference between this and Official Chart Show? On the Big Top 40 Show, they base it off iTunes sales and airplay on commercial radio stations for the songs charting between #11 and #40. For the top 10, they use what's in the iTunes top 10 at 6pm. This leads to songs charting twice sometimes. It also leads to songs that commercial radio play a lot, such as I Gotta Feeling, California Gurls and Bad Romance spending like 9 months in the top 40. And songs that sell well, but don't get played on commercial radio (e.g. Not Afraid by Eminem) have chart runs like 4-6-5-6-5-10-35-OUT. Also, they don't combine multiple versions of songs in the top 10, but they do between #11 and #40.
