Just wait for the press releases!

Yeahhh it's all just hearsay at the moment I think!?

It wouldn't surprise me at all. "Nation's sweetheart" has just gone and f***ed off her homecountry, yeah cheers love. I don't think she will be very well recieved in the US.

Well, let's be honest if it's true they're both escaping a sinking ship. XF UK is rapidly becoming American Idol - great viewing figures which don't translate into album sales. I was hoping they'd discontinue it altogether after last year's mess, but I suppose the advertising dollar is still demanding its stay. Good on Cheryl. If she doesn't get the US XF slot, her profile in the UK will decrease somewhat and she can probably have a bit of a life. No Girls Aloud reunion please though!

Not too bothered, if only Louis would head to America too it would be lovely.

I'd like to see Nicole Sherzinger replace Cheryl :)

Louis is nice! :P Why does everyone hate him? :( I know his judging isn't that great though, yeah..

As for Nicole replacing Cheryl, I would like to see that too. I enjoyed her as a guest judge so it would be nice to see her there permanently.

hmmm, 'an insider said'- this is what makes it hard to believe

there's been so many of these stories- I'll wait for official confirmation myself

that said, I would be more than happy to have both of them off my screen

THIS to the max.

A whole new X Factor line up would be welcome with Nicole clearly being top priority and maybe Shayne Ward seeing as SyCo have pissed him up now. Would be some welcome eye candy for many and he already has the X Factor link. :P (Plus then maybe he'll make another Breathless or No Promises. :()

@Andrew* Girls Aloud NEED to come back. It is vital. :smoke:

Thank God these 2 dickheads are leaving

The X Factor without Simon Cowell simply WON'T WORK, and that will be the end of that.

I also echo Roo's sentiments on Cherly; I don't see her appointment as a US judge going down all that well with the Americans. She's a complete unknown there and even us Britons have a hard time understanding her accent. Also it sounds like it's ONLY Simon Cowell who is pushing for her to get a space on the judging panel, and I can't see America appreciating effectively being TOLD that they will like Cheryl Cole whether they want her or not.

If the feedback that Fox get about Cheryl isn't good then she'll be gone instantly. Fox won't give her a chance to grown on the American public and they'll just threaten to take the entire show of the air if Simon insists she stays.

Fox will have a lot of say in what happens, as they are taking a massive risk by giving X Factor US a mammoth 30% of their airtime. Because Fox only have 2hrs during prime time compared to NBC/ABC/CBS and their 3hrs there are a lot of pilots and existing shows that are being messed about or not picked up to make room for it.

However, Cowell hinted only last week on a US talkshow that he will still star in both shows. A spokesperson for Cowell also dismissed all talk of him leaving the UK show as "complete speculation".

I dont know, American Idol seems to be working pretty marvellously without Cowell at the moment. I suppose it depends on how different or similar you think both shows are.

I also dont think Cheryl will work out in the US at all. Theres no logic in launching a show that has so much pressure on it with an unknown. I cant help but feel he'd be better off trying to lauch Nicole Scherzinger in the US into the same posistion as Cheryl in the UK, just hopefully not quite as irritatingly bland.

To be honest not having Simon Cowell, X Factor won't be the same without him, And Cheryl Cole can bugger off to the states, I rather Nicole Scherzinger or Geri Halliwell :kink:

The thing is with Cheryl is she will be loved or hate. No middle ground. Her advantage is her pretty face. Sex sells afterall, and it is a big career jump for her. Her huge problem is that she is too 'nice' though. She's very cliched and boring when it comes to comments, and it's only cos she's the nations sweetheart that she gets maulled by the press/papers whatever her loon fans may think. It will be different in America because she's completely unknown. If she gets a critical maulling from the beginning then it just won't work out.

She will definitely have to tone down her accent though. I think a lot of people are being naive when they don't think that the American audience will be able to understand her, as I think they will. BUT FOX will want her accent as RP/Hugh Grant as possible, as all British actors with distinctive accents (see James McAvoy, Sean Bean etc.) always revert to RP or American when they're acting, and I am SURE FOX will want the same to happen for Cheryl...

About time we had a brand new talent show tbh. I'm getting tired of the X Factor format now. I don't know what they could do, but maybe something similar to Fame Academy, where the artists can play their own instruments and write their own lyrics etc...? Maybe?
Would be nice to see less of Cheryl fecking Cole. If Simon Cowell quits X Factor then the show will go into decline in the UK and it'll soon end. Surely a good thing?

If X Factor does end up failing now....I wonder if that means "Must be the music" will take over?

What do you think?

As long as we still have Divine Dannii then I don't give a flying Scooby.
