And the rest, depending on whether or not GaGa's impending video has the effect her fans expect it to. Give Adele's Brit performance another week on you tube and its combined views will rival the actual itv viewing figures for the entire show! The video has sort of become viral now.

I'm not a Lady Gaga fan, but I don't think ALL her fans expect it. I can envision what's going to happen already. Born This Way will still not get to #1 this week, and then we'll get into another arguement about how it's "flopped", because all her fans were "expecting" the video to make it go to #1?

What number is Gwyneth Paltrow Forget You combined? as it's number 67 & 68, she's also 72 with Umbrella. Hope both can make the top 40.

I know it's Glee feat her, but she nails both songs IMO!

^ Yeah, I kind of guessed that getting to #1 on iTunes with different songs every week with no promotion = large devoted fanbase.

Love Story was actually pretty massive back in 2009. Or, at least, it seemed like it was to me! Although that seemed more of a pop song than a country song (although I still didn't like it very much).

Anyway, hopefully we'll see Kanye back in the top 10 soon with E.T.!! :w00t:

I'd rather Kanye NOT return to the top 10 as a rent-a-rapper, quite frankly. Especially not with frickin' Katy Perry, who I abhor. He might as well start contributing raps to a Miley Cyrus song next - same target audience, anyway.

And on another note, I really don't think the Taylor incident really did THAT much damage to his career. I think Bray hit the nail on the head with the simple fact it's less commercial. He can easily come back if he wants to - but he's not someone who cares about hits that much anyway, at least not at the expense of what he wants to do artistically. But if his next album was more commercial it would smash - simple as that. He's way too big to just fade like that. Just look at Jay-Z and his sporadic UK career all over the place depending on how chart-friendly the stuff he's doing is.

That said, the timing of it sucks, because now people keep saying the Taylor thing killed his career. I do want him to just smash with a song already so people stop saying this stupid $h!t.

I don't mind how Kanye gets into the top 10!! I just want him there! Anything will do! :D

I still haven't heard his version of E.T. yet anyway.

If Kanye does have a smash hit soon (which hopefully he does), then people will just the same as what they've been saying about Chris Brown recently (i.e. most of the public have moved on/forgotten/forgiven/love the song too much), so some people will probably still hold the belief that the Kanye/Beyonce/Taylor incident ruined his career (temporarily).

I love Lady GaGa, but HATE her new single. Number 3 is an amazing chart postion, no matter who the singer is. Getting to number 1 isn't easy anymore and only a handful of females, Kylie, Madonna, Rihanna, Britney & Beyonce have had more No 1 singles than her. Adele deserved it, especially coming off a second album, which only few British people have major success with (Paolo Nutini is the only recent example I can think of) I just keep remembering the flops (Kate Nash, Mika, Sandi Thom, Sharleen Spiteri) and less sucessful, but sold an okish amount (Amy MacDonald, Duffy, James Blunt, KT Tunstall) the latter two have seen their third albums sell less than the "underperforming second album" I hope La Roux & Florence don't suffer, but my favourite bands rarely get any top 75 album or singles, Saint Etienne, Ladytron, Metric & The Sounds.

I went off topic. I'm sorry :puke2:

The Last Dance #28.. Looks Like she may get low 20.

Justin Bieber #32 :|

Alexis Jordon #10 & 163 most Likely around #09 now.

I'm not sure the glee tracks will have a big impact this week either, Gwyneth Paltrow is a very weak singer, I like her as a person, but not a fan of the singing.

Don't worry, everyone goes off-topic here!

And more people have done it than just Paolo Nutini in recent years - Lily Allen, James Morrison, Kasabian, The Script, Plan B (ok, this one is stretching a bit, but it is his second album)... plus the chart pop acts like Cheryl Cole, JLS - but they were never going to struggle, really.

P.S. When did Sharleen Spiteri ever have a successful album outside of Texas for any follow-up to be regarded as a flop?

Umbrella is already 31 on iTunes and Forget You is 54 and 59! That's better than what 90% of the Glee songs have done on itunes

I fully Expect Good Girl to break top 5 tonight :)

Not quite there is it  famous last words :D

I knew Lily Allen was the MAIN person I had forgotten, although Adele may beat her soon. Cheryl Cole, Leona, Susan Boyle (esp for an Xmas Album) my mind had went blank.

I remember Sharleen's album went top 3 (maybe top 5) and now it's dawned on me that it hadn't done that well to begin with. It's been a LONG day! I just shouldn't think anymore tonight.

I thought the Glee songs tonight were the best this series so far actually!

The Glee songs used in todays episode only;

31. 'Singing In The Rain'/'Umbrella' (featuring. Gwyneth Paltrow)

54. 'Forget You' (featuring. Gwyneth Paltrow) Volume 4

59. 'Forget You' (featuring. Gwyneth Paltrow)

112. 'Nowadays'/'Hot Honey Rag' (featuring. Gwyneth Paltrow)

157. 'Make 'Em Laugh'

449. 'Happy Days Are Here Again'/'Get Happy'

Hmm, maybe SITR/U and FY could return Glee to the top 20 after all. They are doing very well so far. We'll see how it looks in the morning I guess.

Wasn't HDAHA/GH used on an episode a couple of weeks ago? I recall it going mid-50s on iTunes.

Yeah, you're right, it did go top 3. Though I think it only sold modestly, really. Doing a covers album for the follow-up was a really bad commercial move though!

And don't worry, my head is somewhere else too, apparently. Just remembered that Kasabian's album was their 3rd, not 2nd (I always forget they had an album out in 2006, it was a very forgettable era!) and that The Script are Irish (although that's not the worst mistake to make, giving how close Britain & Ireland are musically - but I better correct that in this post before any Irish posters start coming at me with pitchforks for trying to claim The Script as one of our own acts!)

Is it me or does the version of Black and Yellow at #65 sound the same as the original ?

Have you listened to the whole thing, or are you judging it by the 30 second preview? I can never find most of these covers on youtube, but I don't usually want to buy them either!

I really hope Black and Yellow goes to #1. :(

26. Glee Cast- Singin' In The Rain/Umbrella

49 & 51. Glee Cast- Forget You

I thought FY would be a bit bigger, but with two versions I guess it can still go top 40- SITR/U could go top 30 officially if it keeps climbing- glad it is, it was definitely one of the most inspired mash-ups they've done :D

I hope 'Singin' In The Rain/Umbrella' and possibly 'Forget You' make top 40 this week, but the way Gweneth pronunced some of the words in FY was really odd.
