Posted March 15, 201114 yr just in case you wanted a laugh, The Darkness have got back together and are playing Download Festival where they will probaly get bottled and then releasing a new album which will probaly be even more terrible than the albums they already have. i guess they wanted some more $$$ so got back together.
March 16, 201114 yr The darkness were a great band, I loved their music...far better than the rubbish that passes itself off as rock these days. Great musicians, you know, the type that write most of thier own songs and can actually play live. I saw them a few times and they were great, proper music....I am so pleased they are reforming!!!!. March 16, 201114 yr New album? OMG. Not that I'm a big fan of them, I used to like some of their stuff!

Complete  at this post but each to their own I spose! :P I kinda look forward to this... They were 'so 2003' in 2005 and they'll still be that way now. I enjoyed they're second album significantly more than there first though the singles on the first were better. Hopefully this'll be a combination of singles quality and album quality this time! :D
March 16, 201114 yr My my, the band split / reform lifecycle is so short these days isn't it? It's clever of the organisers to position them just before Def Leppard and, I think, at the same time as Korn as that is going to give the impression that they're being welcomed back. They were fun for a summer in 2003 but the whole thing grew as stinky as one of Justin Hawkins' catsuits very quickly.
March 16, 201114 yr 'I Believe In A Thing Called Love' was a terrible TERRIBLE record. Genuinely struggling to remember anything else by them. This news disinterests me.
March 16, 201114 yr I liked I Believe In a Thing Called Love and Christmas Time (Don't Let the Bells end), but I don't actually know anything else by them, still it will be interesting to see what they bring out

March 16, 201114 yr I really liked Permission to Land, and still do to an extent, but their second album was such a comedown. I imagine they're still good as a live act, but I wouldn't want to hear another album by them.
March 16, 201114 yr UNPOPULAR OPINION: I still love 'I Believe In A Thing Called Love'. Yes it was utterly ridiculous, but that was kind of the point, and it was a GREAT drunk anthem back in the days.
March 16, 201114 yr UNPOPULAR OPINION: Christmas Time (Don't Let The Bells End) was the LAST GREAT CHRISTMAS SINGLE.
March 17, 201114 yr UNPOPULAR OPINION: Christmas Time (Don't Let The Bells End) was the LAST GREAT CHRISTMAS SINGLE. Tirren in BANG ON shocker
March 17, 201114 yr UNPOPULAR OPINION: Christmas Time (Don't Let The Bells End) was the LAST GREAT CHRISTMAS SINGLE.+2! Was seriously gutted it missed the Christmas number 1! (Yeah I wasn't/am not a fan of that 'Mad World' cover :puke:) I was sure it would be Chrimbo number 1!
March 17, 201114 yr at the same time as Korn? you'd be surprised just how much of a crowd Korn can still pull, especially at Download, i'd say The Darkness are f***ed. Ah, that's not what I meant. I meant the kind of people who would bottle them or give them a hard time will be watching Korn. What they'll have is a crowd geared up to watch Def Leppard who will probably be really happy to see them. Yep, Korn will pull a huge crowd...even bigger if people are avoiding the Darkness!
March 17, 201114 yr UNPOPULAR OPINION: Christmas Time (Don't Let The Bells End) was the LAST GREAT CHRISTMAS SINGLE. Yes, I can't help but quite like this - once a year only mind! IBIATCL was played to death. As for the first album, it really was good for a while - 'Growing on Me' is still a pretty good song - but the ubiquity of IBIATCL pretty much put me off the sound of Hawkins' voice forever. I have a photograph of the CD shelf of Cash Converters in Glasgow from last year where there were no less than 35 copies of 'Permission to Land' stacked in a row and all for sale at 50p. That picture sums up the career of The Darkness better than anything else ever could.
March 17, 201114 yr An absolutely DREADFUL band, and Justin Hawkins is a complete and utter BELL-END..... A sadly deluded twat who actually thought he was Dave Lee Roth, when it would be more accurate to say that he was more Dave St Hubbins....
March 17, 201114 yr Probably the worst Aerosmith-tribute band ever to exist. That's being generous mate, I'd call them more a Spinal Tap tribute band.....
