March 30, 201115 yr Great for Twin Atlantic on the 1 Upfront List . Only exciting new additions this week for me is Chase and Status and Two Door Cinema Club.
March 30, 201115 yr Author A-list needs a clearing, far too many flops on it Any retro year this week? Uber boring week.
March 30, 201115 yr Two Door Cinema Club re-releasing Something Good Can Work :D Hopefully it can at least be a second top 100 hit for them this time around now they seem to have a slightly higher profile Nothing at all interesting aside from that. Flux Pavilion is unlikely to go higher than #63 but then again it was fantastic it even got that with almost no airplay - its heavy usage on Chris Moyles' marathon show was its main promotion but it seems to be somehow holding up on iTunes :o Hopefully it can have a decent chart run. Always great to see C&S on there too but Time isn't a great single choice :( I was hoping for Hitz Edited March 30, 201115 yr by Bray

March 30, 201115 yr My retro faves/comments; A-List The Avalanches - 'Since I Left You' Nelly Furtado - 'I'm Like A Bird' Gorillaz - 'Clint Eastwood' (Ed Case Remix) Janet Jackson - 'All For You' M&S pres. The Girl Next Door - 'Salsoul Nugget (If You Wanna)' Madonna - 'What It Feels Like For A Girl' Modjo - 'Chillin' I get the impression that this was supposed to do far better than #12? I actually like this a lot more than Lady personally. Outkast - 'Ms Jackson' Shaggy feat. Rik Rok - 'It Wasn't Me' Sugababes - 'Run For Cover' The best single by some margin from 1.0 imo. I have to say, after Soul Sound, I thought they were over. B-List Architechs - 'Show Me The Money' Bel Amour - 'Bel Amour' Emma Bunton - 'What Took You So Long?' Daft Punk - 'Aerodynamic' Jason Downs feat. Milk - 'White Boy With A Feather' Forgotten all about this, pop-country/rap crossover - I liked it! Gabrielle - 'Out Of Reach' Hear'Say - 'Pure & Simple' Kings Of Convenience - 'Toxic Girl' Kosheen - '(Slip and Slide) Suicide' Jennifer Lopez - 'Play' 10 years on and she's smashing it bigger than ever before! Schiller - 'Das Glockenspiel' Spooks - 'Karma Hotel' Starsailor - 'Goodsouls' Quite melodic actually C-List * Black Eyed Peas feat. Macy Gray - 'Request Line' Before they were properly famous! * The Corrs - 'Give Me A Reason' Ah, the days when The Corrs would be played on Radio 1, this was more 'Radio 2 friendly' than any of their other singles too! Any idea if Would You Be Happier got playlisted on Radio 1 later on in 2001 Dre? It was a lot poppier than this song. Norman Bass - 'How U Like Bass?' This was pretty awful, but I do have it on single for some reason, must have been one I got for 1p in Asda  * Orbital - 'Funny Break (One's Enough)' * Push - 'Strange World' * S Club 7 - 'Don't Stop Movin'

Got to say its by far my least fav Corrs single  Awful song!
March 30, 201115 yr * Black Eyed Peas feat. Macy Gray - 'Request Line' Wow! I wonder if they knew how big they'd be in 10 years time!! :o A good playlist overall though. A decent amount of songs I know, and a few I love. Not as good as that one posted a few weeks ago though, from, was it 2003?

Nas & The Brave Hearts - 'Oochie Wally' * S Club 7 - 'Don't Stop Movin' Sound De-Zign - 'Happiness' Request + Line is my favourite BEPs song  So funky. Deserved way better than a miserable #31 it got. I have always liked Macy Gray though, and generally don't like Fergie at all, so I'm probably a bit biased on this one. Most of that playlist is pretty lame looking back, though I liked much of it at the time. Surprisingly the ones I like the most now would probably be the ones with hip hop/hip hop influences like Gorillaz, Spooks, the aforementioned BEPs, Outkast, Missy, Eve. Most of those I didn't pay much attention to then, except I think Eve, who I for some reason loved to the point where I was very much anticipating finding out where that song got to on the charts that week. Absolutely adore The Avalanches song, too, though my 10-year old self was much more attracted to the humour of Frontier Psychiatrist (which I also still love). Kosheen - I liked them, too. Though their songs after this was better. And I'm afraid a lot of the dance songs on this playlist have slipped my memory! Most of them were only minor hits, I seem to recall, though. This playlist is right in a real lull for indie/rock, too, with very dull acts like Stereophonics, Coldplay, Starsailor, Toploader fronting the genre :( Starsailor were easily the better of those four, though, and the only ones I vaguely liked. March 30, 201115 yr Author Yeah it was a pretty crap playlist in terms of dance but that M&S, Architechs and Push tunes were awesome, definitely 3 of the best that year :)
March 30, 201115 yr Its not in my archive but then its incomplete so I wouldnt know for sure. Got to say its by far my least fav Corrs single  Awful song! I loved it way more than any of the In Blue singles, although the video was a bit 'try-hard'! However, I can see why they soon pretended that it never existed - it was far more 'bubblegum pop' than they were known for and probably completely alienated most of their target audience. I wouldn't have been surprised if Radio 1 did ignore it, it probably did well to get as high as #14  I guess every act has a 'career disaster' moment to be swept under the rug forever more, this was theirs.

I loved the In Blue singles, especially "Irresistible", reminds me of MTV Europe at the time. I liked the special effects in that song. Radio 1 probably did ignore it, Radio 2 definitely didnt as I have their playlist from 26th November 2001
March 30, 201115 yr Good to see Sleigh Bells on there again, and Aloe Blacc too. Please be a huge hit!
March 30, 201115 yr Author I cant believe I Need A Dollar is only gonna be released in the UK now
