April 22, 201114 yr My mum adores Blondie. I'll probably buy this for her, but borrow it to put on my ipod. Really like Mother.
April 22, 201114 yr Author Yep I'm loving Mother myself too. Good return especially for a band who are in their 60's now

Some of us went to see them in the late 70s :o Deborah Harry may be 65 but she's still putting out some cracking tunes

April 22, 201114 yr Blondie have always been a bit of a guilty pleasure for me. Atomic, Rapture, Maria and Heart of Glass are fantastic songs, and Parallel Lines is one of my dad's favourite albums. This reminds me a bit of Don't Bother by Shakira. I doubt they'll pull off another surprise no.1 like Maria, but hopefully it will chart.
April 26, 201114 yr Blondie used to be brilliant. One of the best new wave bands from the 70's. They haven't made good music in about 20 years though, so I'd doubt that I'd be interested by this. @ Brett-Butler - guilty pleasure? :manson: why?!
April 27, 201114 yr @ Brett-Butler - guilty pleasure? :manson: why?! They're hardly a band to name drop if you want to sound "hip", as much as I love some of their output.
April 27, 201114 yr Debbie Harry is a guilty pleasure of mine, had a huge crush on her :D in the 80s, some great classic tracks Call Me, Atomic, Tide Is High, Sunday Girl, etc etc, so many great tracks. Mother is brilliant, love it, one of my favourite bands of the 80s. And I bet Russ will agree with me :D They are the only band to have a #1 in three decades 70s, 80s and 90s Welcome back Debbie  And I saw them live at Rochester 2/3 years ago OjM7I83hsLA Back on form, great vocals
April 28, 201114 yr I like Blondie too! Notably 'Hanging On The Telephone,' 'Atomic' and 'Heart Of Glass' but this new record sounds promising too. Hope it can chart and the album sells well! :)
May 1, 201114 yr They are the only band to have a #1 in three decades 70s, 80s and 90s Unless you mean specifically those 3 decades and no other ones, three other bands did that as well. U2 had 'Desire' in the 80s, 'The Fly' and 'Discotheque' in the 90s and 'Beautiful Day', 'Take Me To The Clouds Above', 'Vertigo' and 'Sometimes You Can't Make It On Your Own' in the 00s. Bee Gees had 'Massachusetts' and 'I've Gotta Get A Message To You' in the 60s, 'Night Fever' and 'Tragedy' in the 80s and 'You Win Again' in the 80s. And Queen did it in four decades, 'Bohemian Rhapsody' in the 70s, 'Under Pressure' in the 80s, 'Innuendo' and 'Five Live' (+ the re-release of 'Bohemian Rhapsody') in the 90s and 'We Will Rock You' in the 00s.
