I LOVE YOU :kink:. I hate when people say she is strained in the chorus, she really is not, she is just putting the emotion into the song. I have seen her do far higher vocals with ease, she is NOT straining to hit the notes.

Strain or no strain it's still painful to listen to. IMO.

I think she can hit the notes, but it sounds kinds of screechy.

It's a good song though, overall.

Yeah :D. Her voice is very powerful, and she is great live.

I'm so happy Jermaine Stewart has finally cracked the Top 30 and is currently at no.27 :-)

it would be great if it entered the top 40 :D

if it did, that would be four tracks entering from this year that are more than ten years old :o (Teenage Dirtbag, Fast Car and 19 :D )

Well if it's emotion she's trying to convey, I'd rather in the future that she put no emotion into her singing whatsoever.

Like Bray says, it's just painful.

OK, I just disagree. I do agree that the vocals aren't perfect though, and I have seen her perform it with better vocals live, which is a very rare thing for artists to do. I do sometimes wish they had picked another recording of it. But she defiently CAN hit those notes.

I personally find WYA's vocals too try-hard, she has a good voice but she doesn't need to do all these vocal exercises she does to try and sound emotional, as a result, it makes for a rather painful listen (as has been stated)

Oh I'm not denying that she can sing those notes, from the performances I've seen of her singing, she's got a brilliant voice!

Like you say, I guess it's just that particular recording (which just happens to be the released version!) that I'm not fond of.

This is how I like 'Who You Are' best:

I also find the studio version of it really hard to listen to, the notes being all over the place. It's a brilliant song but I wish it was more like that performance. :(

I do agree that sometimes Jessie does far too many riffs and runs for my liking, but I like the ones she does in "Who You Are".  I also understand where people are coming from with the screechy thing, that happens sometimes in "Nobody's Perfect" for me.

I guess with such a big voice like hers, it must be quite hard to control at times. I don't think yet I have ever heard a note she has hit that I thought was off of uncomfortable to listen to, but I can see where people come from.

Also, that performance is just stunning. It almost gets me emotional everytime

Swedish House Mafia up to #10!!!!!!! AHAHHHH!!!! AHHHHHHHH!!!! AHHHHHHHHH! :w00t: :w00t: :w00t: Well done guys. You've done it again.
