June 5, 201115 yr Arrgh! Rihanna only got to 8 (although I suspected it earlier with the joint highest climber thing on Fast Car, but hoped they'd got their stats wrong). Must have been close between 6 and 8, but shame that 8 will be CKB's peak. :(
June 5, 201115 yr Yay, this fell 2 places during the week :cheer: Still extraordinary for a ballad which is the fourth single of a million-selling album. ^_^
June 5, 201115 yr So glad this song won't be in the top 10 next week. It's so crap and Snoop has sold out it seems. He only sold out by allowing Guetta to do a remix and then releasing it. The original 'Wet' is very much your standard Snoop Dogg track.
June 5, 201115 yr Please tell me that was sarcasm. It's cringe-worthy. :( its not a good lyric as such, but its just rather funny, bit like 'call me Mr flintstone, I can make your bedrock' its pretty impressive that this has managed top 10 when its off a million selling album, it will probably fall from now though
June 5, 201115 yr So glad this song won't be in the top 10 next week. It's so crap and Snoop has sold out it seems. To be fair to him, it was David Guetta who asked to remix it, and the original version isn't quite as dance-pop (although it still is to an extent) and it's more explicit. Snoop has gone more mainstream I think, but I don't think the original version of Sweat/Wet would've been very well-received by the general public. Everybody would hate it on here (except me as usual).
June 5, 201115 yr A fourth top ten hit from a 1 million+ selling album, very impressive! All the better because none of the four sound anything alike - yet the album isn't a mess like others with little cohesion, she really is at the top of her game :o
June 5, 201115 yr Still extraordinary for a ballad which is the fourth single of a million-selling album. ^_^ I know - but do let me be happy that it's not going to get #6 as the mids suggested :kink:

June 5, 201115 yr Which Fergie song does this remind me of? Big Girls Don't Cry? The middle 8 actually reminds me far more of Carrie Underwood's Ever Ever After, there's a very *slight* country sounding twinge to California King Bed in that part of the song.
June 5, 201115 yr I know - but do let me be happy that it's not going to get #6 as the mids suggested :kink: Sorry, I will deny you happiness. ^_^ 'Man Down' next please. :D

All the better because none of the four sound anything alike - yet the album isn't a mess like others with little cohesion, she really is at the top of her game :o I'd say Only Girl and S&M are quite similar. But yeah, fantastic for Rihanna. She has similar sounding songs from time to time, but I think in general she's quite good at releasing things that sound different (although it helps that she seems to alternate between pop and urban singles).

June 5, 201115 yr He only sold out by allowing Guetta to do a remix and then releasing it. The original 'Wet' is very much your standard Snoop Dogg track. This tbh. The conversation went something like: David Guetta: Hi. I heard your song called Wet. Can I remix it? I think I could make it a hit. Snoop Dogg: Yeah sure, if you want homie. It'd be a bit different if it was: Snoop Dogg: Hi David Guetta. I really, really need a hit. You're really popular. Can you remix one of my songs please, so I can release it as a single?
June 5, 201115 yr Back to back Italian artists in the top 10. Never thought I'd say that. The top 20 is pretty European today :)
