Posted June 18, 201114 yr I often listen to albums in full, especially my favourite artists, and have for a long time wondered why certain album tracks were never given a proper release and also wondered how big they could have been if there were better single choices made. Anyway, here are some of my choices from the top of my head: Leona Lewis - Take A Bow (I think this could've actually been a worldwide #1 for her back in 2008...and that is not me being a blind fan  - definitely far more single-worthy than BIT). pbPFI33hcaw Rihanna - Breakin' Dishes (a song that definitely should have been released instead of 'Rehab' at the end of the Good Girl Gone Bad era). c6TBRXQF_IU Bruno Mars - Liquor Store Blues (ok it still could be a single but it's the stand-out of DWAH and is the perfect choice for the summer. Could be a 5th #1 for Bruno). 1iBm60uJXvs Leona Lewis - Outta My Head (proof that Leona CAN nail an uptempo club-friendly hit-worthy song - the #1 that never was). ZUZesHLHJDA Others of mine include Kelly Clarkson's 'Gone' from Breakaway and 'Cry' from All I Ever Wanted, Beyonce's 'Scared of Lonely' from I Am...Sasha Fierce and Christina Aguilera's 'Infatuation' from Stripped.
June 18, 201114 yr Pixie Lott - Doing Fine (Without You), Rolling Stone, Here We Go Again, Coming Home! Miley Cyrus - Permenant December & Stay. The Saturdays - Puppet & Chasing Lights. Rihanna - Love The Way You Lie Part 2
June 18, 201114 yr I fear from this era for Rihanna we might have to add Cheers to this list. :( Plus, it's Avril Lavigne's only chance of becoming relevent again. :( Oh, and I think Rehab is better than Breakin' Dishes, tbh, although both are great. From their previous album, I think the BEPs should've released Missing You as a single in the UK. I think it would've gone top 40, unlike Imma Be. Although obviously Imma Be was a good choice for the US. Also, I think this sounds a bit like Judas by Lady Gaga in the verses. 01i212HXzr8 Edited June 18, 201114 yr by Eric_Blob
June 18, 201114 yr Ke$ha - Cannibal, Sleazy & Dinosaur Lady GaGa - Dance In The Dark How on EARTH did I forget about Dance in the Dark! Such a fantastic song!! Edited June 18, 201114 yr by liamk97
June 18, 201114 yr Marry You by Bruno Mars could've been huge as the third single (although it may still get released and be huge so this is pretty invalid :P ) on the topic of Leona's album (I don't own it, my mum does and I hear it sometimes) I do think Outta My Head could've been a great turnaround hit for her, yet they went with the boring I Got You which was her smallest ever hit - the mind boggles
June 18, 201114 yr The Saturdays - Wordshaker. Destiny's Child - Through With Love (fan favourite - would have been perfect final single) Have to agree with Take A Bow and Outta My Head by leona Lewis, and Breaking Dishes by Rihanna - tuuuune.
June 18, 201114 yr Chase & Status vs. Dizzee Rascal - Heavy AFAIK this is, for some inexplicable reason, not even available to buy on its own - it's 'album only' on both C&S' and Dizzee's albums on iTunes. (Dunno about other download sites though)
June 18, 201114 yr of an album I actually own, I think Ellie Goulding's This Love Will Be Your Downfall would've been a far better choice than Lights imo
June 18, 201114 yr Author on the topic of Leona's album (I don't own it, my mum does and I hear it sometimes) I do think Outta My Head could've been a great turnaround hit for her, yet they went with the boring I Got You which was her smallest ever hit - the mind boggles Personally, I think 'Scene of the Crime' is a far better up-tempo than OMH but I can admit OMH should've been released as the second single. It would have created a huge buzz and would have got more people interested in Leona's album. As you said, they went for the poor 'I Got You' instead which is a nice song and all but just isn't that interesting.
June 18, 201114 yr Ellie Goulding- This Love (will be your downfall) and Human. This love is basically her second starry eyed and human is just phenomenal. Actually, all of the songs on her rerelease had potential to be HUGE. Diana Vickers- Jumping into Rivers Adele- Take it all Calvin- yeah yeah yeah Chase and status- Smash TV Eliza Doolittle- Moneybox
June 18, 201114 yr Kylie Minogue - Aphrodite (the song)! Nonononono, clearly it shoulda been Cupid Boy :P
June 18, 201114 yr Blind or Dancing With Tears in my Eyes  Ke$ha needs a ballad to show her softer and more mature side I think..
June 18, 201114 yr Mika - I See You NkZJ1I1NBJs Such an emotional song, would have helped to dispel a lot of his haters, and could have saved his 2nd era if this and Rain were the first two singles*. *in a hypothetical land where people still live in 2007. As for X Factor flopstars: bGYP8KmPkO0 Someone Wake Me Up aside, this is a great track and really should have been released. Ambitions should have been forgotten altogether. As for the rest, an obligatory Rihanna - Fire Bomb. Seriously? Te Amo and Rockstar over this?
June 18, 201114 yr Nonononono, clearly it shoulda been Cupid Boy :P I absolutley LOVE Cupid Boy too! Aphrodtie was the first one that popped into my head, but now you've mentioned it, I would much rather Cupid Boy!
June 18, 201114 yr I think Aphrodite could've done well, since I've seen it high on iTunes in other countries before.
