I don't get the hate for JLS personally, yes this new song is a bit poor, but at least they are a little adventurous and don't constantly release ballad after cover after ballad. You lot obviously didn't have to ENDURE the horrific and somewhat bast*rdisation of the charts by Westlife in the late 90s/early 2000s. That destroyed my love of the chart for a good few years. 14 number ones, and not one of them deserved. Sickening.

Yes, it was terrible, which meant they lost popularity. Which they're now gaining back. Hence 'gaining popularity'.

 

JLS probably will get less relevant after one or two more albums, I was just pointing out that this era seems to be going against the law of diminishing returns thus far so you never know, maybe they will have sustained popularity :P I wouldn't be surprised if they did get at least 10 #1 singles before starting to flop.

 

OTW only missed #1 because it was released one week after Progress. And 'JLS' was extremely lucky to get to #1 itself being in direct competition with Robbie. A more valid point would be that OTW has only sold about half as much as 'JLS'.

 

Unless it's pitted directly against another really strong opponent their third album will easily be a second #1. But whether it will even match the overall sales of OTW, let alone 'JLS', is more of a pressing issue.
