Anyone who's bought Swagger Jagger shouldn't have the right to buy music. It's awful and Cher was much better on the actual show.

You want the UK to become North Korea over one song? That's a bit of an overreaction

Everyone knew this song was going to chart high, So why come on here and moan? :\ no point at all!

#3 now, Wonder how long before she's #1

Whilst most songs I hate I can see why people would like them. With 'Swagger Jagger' I really don't see what there is to like in it, at least for anyone who's old enough to have started puberty. If you're 6 then yeah I can see it, but people my age... really?! I don't know anyone personally who doesn't hate it no matter what type of music they normally listen to.

I'd say your more overreacting to my post. Anyone would know I'm not being wholly serious. But I seriously think SJ is absolute crap and many will wonder in years to come why they bought it.

It kind of gets in your head. I am trying my hardest to dislike it as it is very much not my sort of thing.

This.

It doesn't surprise me though, the UK really does have shocking taste most of the time.

It's really catchy and I love the instrumental. Plus her voice isn't as bad as some people make it out to be (I'm not saying she has the best voice ever but it's nothing too offensive). My only criticisms are it's lyrically horrible and the chorus isn't that great. Those are the things that stop me from looning over it  but I do still really like it.

Then again I'm not exactly your age am I...

Owww, need the video! :(

There is actually a music video of SFTTR circulating on the music channels. I've seen it once on Magic. It's black and white and shows her in the recording studio etc. It's extremely boring but it's a video nonetheless. I wish Adele made an effort with her music videos. They are a form of art too. SLY and SFTTR both could have had brilliant inspiring videos - although I actually think the BRITs performance sold SLY more than any video could have done.

This.

Too true. The thing is, if you look at it the wider picture when a Syco act gets to #1 it's obviously he is engineering the charts for his acts to go to #1, plus a lot of singles buyers are young. I think the album chart has more credibility.

Can't believe the reaction Cher's position on Itunes is causing here. I mean, SERIOUSLY, we've had JLS at the top for one week, and no one seemed to complain, and now with Cher it sounds like you are all suddenly crying over the state of the charts currently. :/
All I'm saying is that Swagger Jagger is SHEER BRILLIANCE and my current 'redundantly shake off the haters' anthem. Haters off a cliff ~
I've edited my post.

I enjoy the charts, but the music industry is in a sorry state like the economy here. OK, this has gone on for years, but why so many great songs such as "Set Fire To The Rain" can't make #1 yet some slag who has probably had herpes gets to #1 with a nonsense song and can't sing and rap.

Set Fire To The Rain has helped the album spend a 19th week at number 1 in the albums chart, so that's a stupid example.

Oh God, Cher gonna be #1. what has became of the British public?

Which Cher are you talking about, Cher as in actual Cher or Cher as in Cher Lloyd

Actually, I recall someone complaining about JLS last week and then they got shot down because negative opinions are not allowed on BJ these days and everything posted is taken literally to the extreme.

Why on earth would he be talking about actual Cher being better 'on the show' in the same sentence as he's talking about Swagger Jagger?

I don't remember actual Cher being on the show but I think she'd have improved a lot of One Direction performances

I was just yanking his chain

It looks like we could easily have a top 5 of Cher/JLS/The Wanted/DJ Fresh/Ed Sheeran this week.

Ignoring the Dev feature on 'She Makes Me Wanna' this would be the first all-British top 5 since week ending 3 November 2007 when the top 5 were Leona Lewis, Take That, McFly, Sugababes and Mark Ronson/Amy Winehouse (topical) :o
