If it was 1995 then i'd say guaranteed number 1, but in 2011? I doubt it....

I would think that, unfortunately. But she's so popular with UK hip hop fans, that I think the song could be huge. She's done songs with Chipmunk, Devlin, Tinie Tempah, Professor Green, Wiley, etc. so all of their fans will buy the song, surely? I guess similar to Ed Sheeran really.

:P

'Heaven' being discussed as a possible #1 is filling me with such excitement. I have been a fan of Emeli since 'Diamond Rings', she went to the university up the road from me and she was amazing when I saw her live, so I really hope that she can actually breakthrough. I have to say I have heard 'Heaven' been played millions on Radio 1 and the reaction has been great to the song so far, so I think it could be a big hit. Then again however, the music video has disappointing views of only 40,000 or something on YouTube and also the song has been compared to 'On Your Own' by Yasmin and we know how that fared after being touted as a top 10 hit, with lots of Radio 1 airplay. I hope to god Emeli does well though.

I hope the music stations start playing the video, to build up more exposure ahead of it's release, I have not seen it on any of the music stations yet but I've heard it on the radio a good few times, I think it's about time a good decent pop song got to #1 in the charts, It's definitely one of the best songs around atm.

It's doing well on pre-orders actually - so I reckon a T20 hit is definitely on the cards for Emeli. It does remind me a lot of Yasmin's 'On My Own' - but while [OMO] was well-received for the production, I feel [H] is praised for the vocals.

Well, it's very 'cool' to like Dubstep these days in the UK you know.

Plus, Emeli's video has only 40,901 views on YouTube and Sunlight has 2,620,799 views, haven't you noticed that?

Well, I knew Cher Lloyd would be number 1 since the moment I saw the amount of views of her video on YouTube. :teresa:

I was joking about the Youtube thing btw. Yeah, it can give a good idea of how popular a song will be.

'Pumped Up Kicks' is up to #18.

'Jar of Hearts' #21 and 'Cinema' down 1 to #22.

Right, top 100 updates for first yesterday at 8:30 and then today at 8:00.

Three new entries on Monday; from Plain White T's whose noted flop 'Rhythm Of Love' entered at #78 due to its use in an advert, The Game who entered at #95 with his new Chris Brown-featuring single 'Pot Of Gold' and Bruno Mars who started another chart run with his upcoming fourth single 'Marry You' at #96. Caro Emerald re-enters at #99 with 'That Man'. Alexandra Stan, Little Dragon, Ed Sheeran and Swedish House Mafia have dropouts.

Only one new entry today, coming from rock band New Found Glory who are the latest from their genre to earn some low top 100 success from an OA/OS midweek release, their new single 'Radiosurgery' entering at #89. Living Colour re-enter again at #69 with 'Cult Of Personality', presumably the wrestler that uses that song used it again. Electric Light Orchestra's 'Mr. Blue Sky' and Beyoncé's 'Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)' re-enter at #82 and #86 respectively as the 59p songs seem to be getting another burst of promotion. Amy Winehouse, Jennifer Lopez, Lady Gaga and Jessie J have dropouts.

Future hits:

79. Marry You - Bruno Mars

297. Cheers (Drink to That) - Rihanna

342. End of Time - Beyoncé

360. Wet - Nicole Scherzinger

735. Who's Laughing Now - Jessie J

83. Marry You - Bruno Mars

283. Cheers (Drink to That) - Rihanna

339. Wet - Nicole Scherzinger

349. End of Time - Beyoncé

842. Who's Laughing Now - Jessie J

Hoping Bruno can get a 4th consecutive #1 (how spectacular would that be?!), Beyonce can finally get another #1 with the awesome EOT and Rihanna, Nicole and Jessie can score another top 10 hit from each of their albums.

End of Time is incredible. I'd love it to be a #1. Also Countdown and Party I love from her album. Although I've been following it on iTunes, and it's not actually climbing. It's still falling from the album release week, if that makes sense.

Beyonce could also get another #1 from Lift Off, or her song with Dr. Dre. It's funny saying this really, since I remember in the news months ago they were saying Beyonce and Jay-Z being on Dr. Dre's album was the first time they'd've been on a song together in who knows how long, yet now they've completed that other song and it's getting released first.

I hope Nicole misses the top 10 tbh. It sounds like Last Friday Night.

Really hope Cheers, Wet, Marry You and EOT are top 10, and EOT is a number 1! WLY is good enough but a bit of a weak single choice tbh, I can see it missing top 10.
I also think Who's Laughing Now will miss the top 10. :( But Who You Are will be massive, I'm sure! :D Especially if they make a radio edit with less screeching.
I really have noo idea what the hype (on any level) is for End Of Time lol. Doesnt sound even remotely in the ballpark of a #1 song. Maybe just by default its the least of the bad songs on the album?

It's awesome! :o Just so catchy! And I'd say the album is quite strong in general tbh.

And it's funny we had this conversaton, as I just heard Wet on the radio for the first time, on Capital. It reminds me of Swedish House Mafia in the chorus aswell.

It doesn't "sound" like a #1 because it's not a club banger, but it's a really good song.

Beyonce is on Dre's album?

4 is incredibly strong overall (especially I Was Here, End Of Time, Best Thing I Never Had, I Care and Start Over) so End Of Time being 2nd best (behind I Was Here imo) is a good thing!
