What did Chase & Status produce on Rated R? Photographs was amazing for the record.

So hope that Emeli can nab the #1 spot, but I still think she will stay at #2. Still, a great debut for her, and I am thrilled she didn't 'do a Yasmin' on us. I pray she has a very big career ahead of her. I think she should do around 60 or 70k this week, which is very good imo.

Chase and Status' best work was with Plan B, imo. 'End Credits' and 'Pieces' are still fantastic even though they're pretty old now.

They produced -

Russian Roulette :o

Mad House

G4L

Wait Your Turn

on Rated R.

True. Most producers can only come up with one beat - but if I played to you the instrumentals of "Blind Faith" and "Hitz" before I told you who it was by would you have guessed both are by the same producers?? Probably not as both sound different  They're my 2nd favourite dubstep/d&b producers, after Nero.

No, I don't think I would've been able to tell they had the same producers. Not only just because they manage to have different sounding songs, but because they also just sound so good! Especially Blind Faith. What an anthem!

Hitz aswell. I love the beat to that. And the hook is so good. The only thing that annoying be about the song is the title tbh. WHY do they spell it with a "z"? Nothing is more frustrating than people who think "z"s and "s"s are interchangeable. They are NOT!

No way did they produce Russian Roulette! :o If they did, it's officially the worst song they've ever done. By MILES! On wikipedia it says Russian Roulette was produced by Ne-Yo (which explains why I hate it ).

Wow. Really? :o As a Rihanna fan, I feel obliged to listen. :kink: Radio 1?

They did more than one song for Rated R though, I think. They're very talented producers imo.

I read an interview of them that Rihanna wanted to appear on Chase & Status's album to return the favour, and they declined her! :o

They just talked about that. :D

They did 3 or 4; Mad House, wait your turn, apparently russian roulette (:o) and something else.

More of their productions to come! Incredibly excited for the next full album now. There was a rumour a few months ago that a song called saxon was meant to be on Rated R and actually a single. They just confirmed it. when them and Rih was in the studio they tried to make it more mainstream/radio friendly but it didn't work. At the Brit awards Rihanna went upto them and said that she hasn't forgotten about the song and still needs to record it.

Says the person who spells "wise" with a 'z' :kink: :kink: [/bre]

I can't believe Chase & Status produced Russian Roulette. They're electronica producers, not RnB producers! :o It sounds absolutely nothing like their songs. It's such a shame if they did, as it's their biggest song. :(

I missed that bit of the interview. :( Is Rihanna still going to sing on it then? She's doing a re-release for Loud, so it might be on there.

He tells me off whenever I do it, but he's fine with it when Chaze & Status do it.

Modestep at 12 :o

Most of the new entries are doing alot better than I expected (apart from Wretch)

Hopefully Shuffle can continue to climb like it did last week. Considering the album is out on the 29th, a new peak seems possible :D

But "Russian Roulette" has nothing to do with R'n'B anyway - it's just a dirge of a ballad that isn't sung particularly well.

Russian Roulette is closer to RnB than the entire top 100 at the moment (apart from Heaven by Emeli Sande).

Nonsense - Chris Brown x2, Jason Derulo, Black Eyed Peas, Loick Essien, hell even JLS, and Beyonce's "Best Thing I Ever Had" if you want to include ballads for starters

I can understand Next to You and Best Thing I Never Had, but:

Beautiful People

Don't Wanna Go Home

Don't Stop the Party

How We Roll

She Makes Me Wanna

Goodness me. I'm actually speechless. Going by that logic, The Edge of Glory, Only Girl and Party Rock Anthem are also RnB songs (which, to clarify, they most definitely are NOT).

And if you're going to be that liberal, Right There and I'm Into You would be the more obvious choices, surely?

I'd class How We Roll as RnB, but Russian Roulette isn't. I'm not sure WHAT it is, but it's definitely not RnB.

How We Roll, She Makes Me Wanna, Beautiful People etc. are all dance-infused R&B tbh.

Russian Roulette is R&B as well, dark R&B, but R&B nonetheless.

Yeah. How We Roll, maybe, I guess.

If he'd said:

Right There

Best Thing I'd Never Had

Just the Way You Are

I'm Into You

How We Roll

Next To You

I'd probably have though, "Yeah, fair enough".

But Beauitful People!? It's europop! Benny Benassi would be horrified if he was called RnB. And RedOne could never make an RnB song if his life depended on it, so JLS, most certainly not.

How can you say something like She Makes Me Wanna has any RnB in it though. It sounds the same as Yeah 3x, Calvin Harris, Cascada, September, Madonna, Britney Spears, etc.

Where on Earth did this idea that Chase & Status produced Russian Roulette come from?

I don't know. But I can't believe it myself. It sounds absolutely nothing like them. Not to mention, it's quite frankly, appalling (in my opinion ). On wikipedia, it says it's produced by Ne-Yo, which I think makes more sense, since a lot of his own songs are just as depressing.

Chase & Status only produced G4L and Wait Your Turn (both plausible imo). Plus the intro Mad House but that doesn't really count :P

It's on their Wikipedia discography page.

In the album booklet to Rated R, won't they have it. Like there's a list of who produced each song, who wrote the lyrics, etc.
