They might be from the XF but they weren't winners. And how many runners-up performed on XF up to then? 2-Rhydian and JLS. How many other non-winners performed more than once? JLS. I don't dislike them per se but I think their music is generic and I feel strongly that they were given preferrential treatment (pushed down our throats) by the Cowell&Walsh machine- they saw the little girls running with the parents' money to fill their coffers.

And there's no logical explanation of why The Saturdays weren't allowed when, besides the big acts you mentioned (some of them even embarassed themselves on the XF) we've had the above-mentioned The Wanted, fresh after one single but otherwise unknown, endless Westlife, Boyzone and Robbie when they weren't at all relevant, Take That and Girls Aloud on a constant basis and the huge pimping of Cheryl Cole, Shane Ward's lifeless return, Diana Vickers etc etc.

Allowing for the has-beens and the oldies and the 'singer-turned-judge' , how would you explain The Wanted and Diana (remember the scandal around her copying that song?), then? They really were nobodies at that point, even more so than The Saturdays.

As I said, I am not a fan of The Sats but I do think they have been screwed for certain opportunities.

But they just arent big enough. X-Factor contestants will also get a slot on the show. JLS more than others because they have been able to sustain their success while a lot of the others havent.

Westlife, Boyzone and Robbie were relevant to the public becuase they were able to sell mutli platinum albums. The Sats can barely get a gold album.

Diana was a contestant so again she will get a slot.

Im a Sats fan but im realistic about their chances about being on the show. They just arent big enough or have connections with the show.

I think I'm getting a bit fed up of explaining every 30 minutes to people how The Wanted got to perform on X Factor now. It's getting repetitive.

With Pixie's #1s, I have to say, Mama Do was a weird song to be #1, but I LOVED Shut Up and Drive Boys and Girls!

Leona  #6  Love that she's still climbing, next stop #5!

Looking at latest popbars (not that theyve updated recently) example and olly are v close... so if Leona continues to move up, number 4 may be the next stop :-)

I wonder if AFU will be reduced to 59p a la Notorius midweek to help give them a boost - its going to be an interesting battle throughout the week!

Edit - in case I get jumped on by the SatsMaffia - I know Nortorius wasn't reduced in their opening week; just in the long run

Pixies big promo has been and gone, all she has left is Lorraine which will do barely anything. The Sats have still got Alan Tichmarsh and Jonathan Ross this week..plus physicals will put them 5k ahead of Pixie straight away. It's not over people!

Didnt their last single only sell 1k physicals though ?

awww i remember with billie piper when she released her third song the same week b*witched released theirs and both had two number ones beforehand.

Shame for her that B*Witched were unleashing one of the greatest (and most underrated :() pop ballads of all time!

I knew Pixie will get ahead of the Sats after her performance :P
yeah i wouldnt rely on saturdays physical sales. if i remember rightly 'Notorious' only got to #3 on physicals
Tomorrow's going to be a vital day, Pixie & Sats will be frontloaded of course, but Saturdays have radio promotion tomorrow and will be on the ineffective Alan Titermarsh. They also have Jonathan Ross on Saturday but that could be late. Physicals is the Saturdays biggest chance but when you look at the Airplay and Pixie's promotion Saturdays did well even to go to number one.
No way, All About Tonight is an awesome song to remember by :yahoo:

And being serious... who is Billie Piper?

You must've heard the ANTHEM which was 'Because We Want To' :o (also she was in Doctor Who as Rose)

anyway, AAT is my favourite of the three releases so I'm glad it's number 1 ^_^ its the dizzy heights of decent...

I know! And the song that knocked Cher's 'Believe' off the top spot

I really hope Pixie doesn't get number 1 with that song, it's one her worse songs imo, I can't stand certain artist who always get to number 1 even when they release rubbish, Come on The Sats, still rooting for them
I wonder how long it'll take Maroon 5 to retake the Saturdays.

I'm more surprised to see the sales of Leona, Pixie and The Sats on Sunday than the position wise. Pixie and The Sats peak single sales first week are always in the 40-50kish range am I correct?

Now I wonder will the #1 of this week (if it's one of them 2) be in that range value...

if they are ahead of maroon5 already im wondering if they will both do at least 60k

It's the end of Day 1 - and I think the winner has made themselves clear. The Saturdays were never going to hold #1 on iTunes - but congratulations on them for reaching it at all. Great to see Leona Lewis making progress, I imagine the three of them will occupy the top 3 in the first update.

At the moment, I'd say Pixie-TheSaturdays-Maroon5-Example-LeonaLewis for the T5 come Sunday.

Ain't you forgetting the physical is only available thru their own website.

I was thinking of that blonde in Doctor Who (was in) and wondered if it was her, guess I was right :cheer:

And no never heard of her songs or anything. Only thought she was nothing but the doctor's right hand lol.
