You're probably the only person who would call a critically acclaimed smash hit like that "a guilty pleasure"

Really? I was just sort of referring to the style of the song. It's lovely, but maybe a little cheesy. That's all I meant by it.

And Lighters has reentered! :cheer:

Sad how Eminem has now become almost a parody of his former self

You guys are lucky you aren't having to endure Lighters EVERY SECOND on the radio.

This as well. Quite possibly the worst verse I've ever heard from him.

I really like this song, I need to buy it. Any reason why it's suddenly back in the top 40?
This is the defenition of pleasant but dull.

That's what I'm thinking right now. I like it, but I wouldn't choose to go out and listen to it. Kinda dull.

I thought MIB was knocked off by The Verve's The Drugs Don't Work?

Good to see Lighters back - looks like this could break Bruno Mars' top 10 streak though (ignoring 'It's Better If You Don't Understand' and any album tracks from him or other people (such as 'Mirror' from the new Lil Wayne album which will probably chart just outside the top 100 today :P) of course).

It's getting promoted as a single now. It's previous chart run was just it charting as an album track (and airplay from Capital).

I like Lighters, but it sounds so out of place on the album!

Scottish kitsch-dance producer, Calvin Harris, burst on to the UK music scene with his tongue-in-cheek single, "Acceptable In The 80s", which reached number 10 in the UK singles chart. A blend of retro synth sounds, and knowing lyrics it set the template for Harris' debut full length, I CREATED DISCO, released in June 2007. The album was preceded by Harris' second single, "The Girls", which upping the ante with it's ironic claims of sexual attractiveness--set to a synth sample from the Human League--the single shot top number 3 in the single charts. - HMV

Bounce still top 40 :D 12 weeks isn't too bad at all, although a song spending half its top 40 weeks in the top 10 isn't brilliant. (At least it's not done a 'How We Roll' and spent 5 weeks top 10 then only 2 more top 40...)
Still love this song, am sure most of the UK has long since tired of it, though.

yes that's right! i'm confused?..... :D

My knowledge of mid/late 1997 #1's is depressing

Bounce has had a very good chart run considering how long it was held back. It's grown on me aswell.

Did he say Tinchy and Calvin? Have I missed something?

There's a DJ on Capital that says EVERY TIME he plays Rain On Me that he thinks it sounds like Dragostea Din Tei. That's probably what I'd be like if I was a radio presenter.
