Certainly not. Bizzare certainly, but surely the aim with "Swagger Jagger" was to ride the hype to Number One, and I'm sure the record label sees it as a job well done. Let's face it, she was never going to be one for much chart longevity.

It's a thing called 'relativity'. You expect a song with a higher peak to have greater longevity.

I know, but people would've probably praised Cher if she had the same chart runs as something like Down On Me, but sold the same amount (which she probably will, roughly).

although i hate x factor type tracks, remember one of the nails in Cher Lloyds coffin was the fact the sony distribution centre did burn down in the riots, and stocks were limited after that.

I actually think this is quite a good song. But when they performed it at the VMA's I couldn't understand a word they were saying :P

Sales is what counts in the long run. A good chart run is 9 times out of 10 going to achieve better sales than a no.1 peak that falls out the top 40 within 7 weeks.

Well, again that is down to expectations - I think she would have been derided if she had peaked at 35 even if it sold 50k and stayed in the top 40 for 10 weeks.
